Visualization for Rule VI for Applicants

“The purificatory fires burn dim and low when the third is sacrificed to the fourth.  Therefore let the disciple refrain from taking life and let him nourish that which is lowest with the produce of the second.”

  1. Align with the soul.

  2. Visualize and reaffirm the individual antahkarana.

  3. Align with the group soul and realize your identity with it. Emphasize particularly the colors belonging to your soul and personality ray, otherwise indigo blue.

  4. Visualize and reaffirm the group antahkarana glowing with all seven colors of the rainbow. Emphasize the color indigo blue of the great synthetic second ray.

  5. Utilizing the group antahkarana, imagine the group open and accessible to the levels of the spiritual triad, and increasingly infused by the energies of those dimensions.

  6. See the group soul approaching identification with the Spiritual Hierarchy of our planet, and with the Christ at the Heart of Hierarchy.

  7. Identify as a soul-infused personality (the disciple between the world of the soul on its own plane and the personality, per se).

  8. See the fires of purification burning within the three lunar vehicles and the personality (the lower sum total).

  9. See these fires doing their cleansing work and realize that, as a result of the work of these fires, the spiritual dimensions of life can better express through the form.

  10. Imaginatively view the living members of the third kingdom, the animal kingdom, which humanity uses as food.

  11. See them clearly in their natural state and appreciate their divine nature.

  12. View according to the revelatory power of your own imagination, the processes by which these animals are sacrificed for humanity’s food. Attempt to feel this sacrifice.

  13. View these same animals once they have been prepared as food for humans. Realize the contrast between their appearance as food and their appearance in the natural, living state.

  14. See human beings eating animal food.

  15. Again, see the purificatory fires at work within the human personality.

  16. But as a result of the consumption of animal food, see these fires dimming and burning low instead of bright.

  17. Understand that as a result of the consumption of animal food, impurities which would otherwise be burned away are remaining within the personality vehicles.

  18. Attempt to realize the loss of spiritual influence and opportunity which these remaining impurities cause.

  19. See yourself as a disciple vis-à-vis the animal kingdom.

  20. See yourself deliberately refusing to kill animals for food, or refusing to accept that animals are killed for food.

  21. Analyze your motive.  Why do you refuse?

  22. Visualize your physical body and grasp its need for nourishment.

  23. View in the mind’s eye, the beauty of the vegetable kingdom.

  24. Focus with appreciation on those members of the vegetable kingdom which are rightly used for human food.

  25. See yourself and others eating the produce of the vegetable kingdom. Feel the rightness of this kind of consumption.

  26. See as a result the purificatory fires (which had been burning dim and low through the consumption of animal bodies) now brightening and intensifying—waxing in strength, and carrying forward most effectively the processes of purification.

  27. Realize the spiritual gain which results from the process of purification.

  28. Pause to consider the Divine Order of things—how and why it is fitting that the fourth be nourished by the second instead of the third.

  29. In light of these thoughts, choose what you will do and why.

  30. Send forth the essence of your realization to uplift the field of human consciousness.

  31. Sound the OM three times expressing a threefold commitment to the Divine Plan.
