Definitions of Fohat from the compilation on the search word Fohat // Text in blue or red: MB.

Fohat is an Entity. Fohat is God. Fohat is the aspect of God called Brahma, or the seven Raja-Lords or the Devas of the seven planes, who manifests Akasha. Fohat differentiates mulaprakriti into prakriti. Fohat, the primordial light, is both the matter and the energy/fire that transforms that matter. The “matter of Fohat” transcripts the etheric body to the harder physical body. Fohat is cosmic electricity and electric phenomena. Fohat in its aspect of electricity is involved in the power of thought. Many more definitions are given in the compilation on “Fohat/fohat” and summarised below. My impression is that Fohat/fohat can be given different definitions on each of the seven planes (TCF 41-44; pop-up 11): “Fohat is divine thought or energy (Shakti) as manifested on any plane of the cosmos. It is the interplay between Spirit and matter.”

The inter relationship between Fohat/fohat and Agni may also differ dependent on which plane we consider. We are told that Agni is Fohat, and that Agni is one of Fohat’s six Brothers. Agni is also the Lord of the mental plane. We find tables with Agni and Fohat differentiated from each other, and exactly how is not clear from these quotes. Agni is the Lord of Fire for the human evolution and Fohat is the cosmic Lord of Fire. Will and Spirit are sometimes referred to Fohat, but e.g. in the first table in #22; TCF 628 – 632 Will and Spirit are referred to Agni and not to Fohat. Further study and mapping may elucidate this.

This search on Fohat led to God in manifestation in time and space. The basic triangle for the manifestation is Seven Spirits/ sevenfold will - Seven Rays/ sevenfold quality or psyche - Seven Deva Lords/ sevenfold form (#22; TCF 628 – 632).

Fohat is an energy which is an aspect of the physical sun.

“Secret of Initiation Logos Concerned Source of Energy Planes

Fohat Third Brahma Creator Physical Sun Seven, Six, Five

[…….] the source of the particular energy concerned is one aspect of the sun.” #2: IHS 175

From the glossary in IHS:

Fohat. Cosmic electricity; primordial light; the ever-present electrical energy; the universal propelling vital force; the ceaseless destructive and formative power; the synthesis of the many forms of electrical phenomena.” #5 IHS 186

The energies which utilise the akasha (ether) in the universe are divided into three main divisions according to the Ageless Wisdom” (Table made by MB):

Main division

Description in quote

Fohat

Spirit

The will-to-exist; the determining life principle of God; it is divine Purpose, actively functioning; the sum total of all forms, and of all states of consciousness;

Prana

Soul

the consciousness principle; an effect of the union of spirit or life, and matter or substance; the energy of the form; carrying out divine purpose;

Kundalini

--(The evil connected to materialism and the physical body; the evil snake symbolism//MB)

the force latent in matter itself; the integral life of the atom.

These three types of energy are therefore aspects of the one universal life, as it expresses itself through a solar system, utilising the ether as its medium or field of activity, and producing therefrom all the objective forms.” #6. SIM 99-100

Fohat, the primordial light, is both the matter and the energy/fire that transforms that matter. This “matter of Fohat” transcripts the etheric body to the harder physical body (association to Cancer the Crab being soft inside with a hard shell, and being connected to incarnation):

“The wheel of life turns within the wheel of outer form.

The matter of Fohat circulateth, and its fire hardeneth all the forms. The wheel that is not glimpsed moveth in rapid revolution within the slower outer case, till it weareth out the form.” #7. TCF 31

Fohat is Akasha in manifestation; divine Energy. Fohat on the different planes is known as aether, air, fire, water, electricity, ether, prana and similar terms. It is the sumtotal of that which is active, animated, or vitalized, and of all that concerns itself with the adaptation of the form to the needs of the inner flame of life.”

Akasha: “On the highest plane the combination of these three factors (active heat, latent heat and the primordial substance which they animate) is known as the 'sea of fire,' of which akasha is the first differentiation of pregenetic matter.”

Pop-up 11: Fohat is divine thought or energy (Shakti) as manifested on any plane of the cosmos. It is the interplay between Spirit and matter. The seven differentiations of Fohat are:

1. The Plane of divine life Adi Sea of fire.

2. The Plane of monadic life Anupadaka Akasha.

3. The Plane of Spirit Atma Aether.

4. The Plane of the intuition Buddhi Air.

5. The Plane of mind Mental Fire.

6. The Plane of desire Astral Astral Light.

7. The Plane of density Physical Ether.

S. D. I, 105, 134, 135, 136. #8. TCF 41-44

AGNI, the Lord of Fire, rules over all the fire elementals and devas on the three planes of human evolution” and is one of seven Brothers who constitute the essence of Fohat, the cosmic Lord of Fire.

[Agni. The Lord of Fire in the Vedas. The oldest and most revered of the Gods in India. One of the three great deities Agni, Vayu and Surya, and also all the three, as he is the triple aspect of fire [Vayu = Fohat?/Brahma?]; fire is the essence of the solar system. The Bible says: "Our God is a consuming fire." It is also the symbol of the mental plane of which Agni is paramountly lord. Glossary IHS 215] MB bold.

Pop-up: 23 Fohat, or electricity, is an Entity.

He is the primordial electric Entity S. D., I, 105.

He is Will S. D., I, 136.

He is Love-Wisdom S. D., I, 100,144,155.

He is Active Intelligence S. D., I, 136.

Therefore He is God S. D., I, 167.

He is the sumtotal of the energy of the seven Spirits, Who are the sumtotal of the Logos.

S. D., I, 169. #9. TCF 65-66

Fohat is “the energising Life, the third Logos or Brahma” which differentiates mulaprakriti into prakriti, or undifferentiated ether/matter into differentiated matter. #12. TCF 118

Fohat is differentiating Fire (#12) animating matter.

Fohat rusheth through space. He searcheth for his complement.”

“The breath of the unmoving one, and the fire of the One Who seeth the whole from the beginning rush to meet each other, and the unmoving becomes the sphere of activity.”

#13. TCF 172-173

Fohat which is fire of matter plus electric fire”

Fohat is the energy applied by the rod of initiation to the center or centers involved. This brings about ‘definite effects’ between spirit and matter. #14. TCF 212-213

The Seven Sons of Fohat equals the seven centres in Brahma. The centres in Brahma equals “the final differentiation of the forty-nine fires”. #18. TCF 533-534

In one of the last hits, the one with the number 22, the Master puts the different terms in a more clear light. All three parts of the logoic trinity work out through the Deva kingdoms, but the more direct connection between Fohat and the “the seven Raja-Lords or Devas of the seven planes” is for the first time clearly pointed out, and not only hinted at.

The basic differentiation in the solar system is as follows:

Agni........Electric fire.........Spirit......Central Spiritual Sun..Energy

Surya......Solar fire............Vishnu....Heart of the Sun.........Light

Brahma...Fire by friction..................Physical visible Sun....Fohat

[Agni is Fohat. The attributes of Agni and Brahma are exchangeable in the quotes; sometimes Agni sometimes Brahma is the higher octave, pointing at the Oneness of Spirit and Matter. This table could be viewed as a circle, there Agni and Fohat merge with Surya bridging between them. // MB]

As fire by friction He manifests as the seven Sons of Fohat, the seven great fires, or the active heat of intelligent substance.

Sevenfold electric fire. the seven Spirits before the Throne in Their essential essence; "Spirits of Darkness."

Sevenfold solar fire. The seven Heavenly Men, the sumtotal of Light, the seven Rays of manifestation of the Spiritual Sun. "Sons of Light."

Sevenfold fire by friction. The seven brothers of Fohat. The seven manifestations of electricity, or of electrical phenomena. These are the seven Raja-Lords or Devas of the seven planes; they are the seven Fires, or those seven states of activity through which consciousness is expressing itself. They are the vehicles of consciousness and the seven vibrations. They are esoterically the "Brothers of energy."

the sumtotal of logoic manifestation as it can be seen in existence in time and space is:

Seven Spirits...............sevenfold will.

Seven Rays.................sevenfold quality or psyche.

Seven Deva Lords......sevenfold form.

The latter are literally the seven spirillae, or force vibrations within the logoic physical permanent atom. This needs to be carefully borne in mind and pondered upon.

1. The seven Spirits who find Their originating incentive on:

a. The cosmic lower mental levels.

b. The logoic "Jewel in the Lotus."

c. The cosmic atmic plane.

2. The seven Heavenly Men are in the line of force from:

a. The cosmic astral plane.

b. The logoic nine-petalled lotus.

c. The cosmic buddhic plane (the seven Rishis of the Great Bear).

3. The seven Sons of Fohat find their vital force emanating from:

a. The cosmic physical plane.

b. The logoic permanent atoms (within the causal body).

c. The cosmic higher mental levels.

/Pleiades?

Yet these three are but the expressions of One Existence, for behind the Logos in physical incarnation is to be found the logoic Monad, expressing Itself through the logoic Ego, and its reflection, the logoic Personality. #22. TCF 628 - 632

fohat is the essential energy of our solar system

fohat is connected to “pure astral energy”
