Important Foundational Relationships

Gemini
In Comparison With
Virgo
1.   The Twins   1.   The Virgin, or Virgin Mother
2.   Esoteric Mantram: I recognise my other self, and in the waning of that self, I grow and glow.   2.   Esoteric Mantrams: I am the Mother and the Child, I, God, I matter am.
Christ in you, the hope of glory.
3.   Exoteric/Evolutionary Mantram: And the Word said: Let instability do its work.   3.   Exoteric/Evolutionary Mantram: And the Word said: Let matter reign.
4.   Quality of Light: The Light of Interplay.   4.   Quality of Light: The blended dual Light.
5.   Element: Air sign   5.   Element: Earth Sign
6.   The Mutable or Common Cross   6.   Mutable Cross
7.   Transmits R2 constellationally   7.   Transmits R2 and R6 constellationally
8.   Gemini in relation to the transmission of second ray energy: “Gemini is only found in the triangle of Ray II and at this time, …Today the world is focussed (spiritually or materially) and the fluctuations of the pairs of opposites are much lessened temporarily. Gemini, therefore, is the inactive point of the triangle, though still potent from the esoteric angle of the individual disciple or initiate.” (EA 491)   8.   Virgo in relation to the transmission of second ray energy: Virgo and Pisces are carrying the major task of transmitting second ray energy.” (EA 491)
9.   Secondarily, (assuredly, but not exclusively), transmits R4, R5 and R3 through Mercury, Venus and the Earth—its three planetary rulers on three levels—exoteric, esoteric and hierarchical.   9.   Secondarily, (assuredly, but not exclusively) Virgo transmits R4, R4, R6, R1, and R2 through Mercury, the Moon, the veiled Neptune, the veiled Vulcan, and, also, Jupiter—all these are its planetary rulers on three levels—exoteric, esoteric and hierarchical.
10.   Color: yellow   10.   Color: yellow (Mercury rulership). Blue-green is an additional reasonable possibility.
11.   Creative Hierarchy number IV (unmanifested), characterized by the “Desire for Duality”   11.   Creative Hierarchy number II (manifested) and VII of 12. Divine Builders conferring Soul; the Burning Sons of Desire
12.   Associated with the establishing of relationship between Father, Mother and Child at the first initiation (cf. EA 388); the clarifying, mind-illumining second initiation (EA 157, GWP 271); the crucifying, illusion-renouncing fourth (EA 472); and the resurrecting seventh initiations (the second ray initiation of fulfilled Love-Wisdom). (cf. R&I 88-89)   12.   Associated with the stages immediately preceding the ‘birthing’, form-regulating first initiation (EA 67, 471); then, with the cleansing, purifying second initiations, and possibly with the decisive, Monad-establishing sixth (introduction to true monadic living)
13.   Gemini (the third sign) can be associated with the thought-configuring, articulating throat center under the third ray; also with the duality-resolving, unifying heart center, and with the manipulating/blessing centers in the palms. Dualistic Gemini (ruled by oscillatory Mercury) can also be associated with the dualistic, decision-making, polarity-integrating ajna center, and with the system-uniting “kundalini” at the base of the spine. “Mercury demonstrates kundalini in intelligent activity” (EA 181)

13.   Virgo can be reasonably understood as influencing, particularly, the cherishing, patient, maternally-loving heart center (through the second ray), and the persistently devoted solar plexus center (through the sixth). In addition to its influence upon a number of smaller, sub-diaphragmatic centers associated with the solar plexus, Virgo must have an influence upon the ajna center—as an organ of discrimination and discernment. The mysteries of generation are ruled by the Moon, which rules Virgo esoterically; a sacral center association is, thereby, reasonable. The six of the sacral center leads to the twelve of the heart.

14.   The zodiacal signs influence the Monad of every human being (EA 411, 637, TCF 1191); the influence from Gemini makes it possible for the “Brother” who is the “prodigal son” to go forth into a “far country” (as the Monad-in-substantial-immersion), and yet, remain ‘at home’ within the Father’s House as the “elder Brother” Who did not go forth (i.e., as the Monad undiminished upon its own level of consciousness). Thus is the Monad “in the world yet not of the world”. Gemini endows the Monad with its all-pervasive omnipresence relative to the human energy system. “Having pervaded the entire Universe with a fragment of myself, I remain.”   14.   The zodiacal signs influence the Monad of every human being (EA 411, 637, TCF 1191); the influence from Virgo is powerful in monadic life because the second manifested Creative Hierarchy (Who are the “prototypes of the Monads”—TCF 1197) are ruled by Virgo and its hierarchical ruler, Jupiter. One motivation of the descending Monad is the perfection of matter (in this case, the substance of the first solar system). With this mission, Virgo is intimately concerned.
15.   Within the Triad—Gemini, the third sign, is related to higher manas (the third aspect of the Triad). Higher manas formulates into abstract thought the revelations of the ‘idea-patterns’ to be found upon the buddhic plane. Gemini, as its dualistic symbol reveals, is also related to the divine love, pure reason and intuitive revelations of buddhi, the second aspect of the Spiritual Triad.   15.   Within the Triad—Virgo ( esoterically ruled in part by Neptune, and hierarchically by second ray Jupiter, and transmitting, itself, the second ray), is related primarily to buddhi (the second aspect of the Triad), bestowing as it does the second ray and a higher correspondence to “mother love”—a divine, maternal compassion. Virgo is also associated with the third ray, and the third divine aspect, and hence, even if indirectly, with higher manas, the third triadal aspect.
16.   In relation to the Solar Angel, and the soul-consciousness (and causal body) through which it expresses—Gemini can be seen as governing the pulsations of Solar-Angelic thought and vitality which rhythmically stimulate the personality. Gemini can be associated with the attempt the Solar Angel to communicate with and instruct the personality.   16.   In relation to the Solar Angel, and the soul-consciousness (and causal body) through which it expresses—Virgo, like Cancer, can be seen in the ‘mother’ role—with Virgo providing a nurturing and discriminatively cleansing energy, utilized by the Solar Angel to improve the quality of its personality manifestation. Virgo, as the Solar Angel expresses it, is the will to manifest love intelligently through matter, until the Christ energy pours successfully through the personality-form and a relative perfection is reached.
17.   Within the Personality—Gemini can be identified with the flexible associative processes and informational receptivity of the lower mental nature, which becomes, eventually, especially responsive to the antahkarana; with the bi-polar fluctuations of the astral nature, vacillating conflicted between the pairs of opposites (EA 362); in general, with the etheric nature and its network of interplaying vital-electric currents and with the sprightliness and rejuvenation of the dense physical  nature. Gemini is especially related to the etheric vehicle. (EA 352) (The vehicular focus and its degree of prominence, depends upon the stage of evolutionary development.)   17.   Within the Personality—Virgo can be identified with the discriminative, analytical, and selective processes of the lower mental nature; with the cleansing and purification of the astral nature; with the magnetic purity of the etheric nature; with the general health and nutrition and of the dense physical vehicle. Virgo, via the Moon, is particularly related to the dense physical vehicle and to all personality substance as a whole. (EA 194) (The vehicular focus and its degree of prominence, depends upon the stage of evolutionary development.)
18.   Stage within a Preliminary Fourfold Meditative Process: Vitalization   18.  Stage of Meditative Consciousness: Meditation proper. “Virgo—Meditation—Soul life, as sensed in man, the gestation period. The stage of the hidden Christ. Intelligent man. Personality, as hiding the Christ life.” (EA 228)
19.   The Crisis of Renunciation characterized by the quality of Crucifixion   19.   The Crisis of the Birthplace characterized by the process/quality of Initiation

Gemini
In Comparison With
Virgo
1.   Expressive, principally, of the second or Love aspect of divinity. (EA 351) “It is the constellation Gemini and its inherent second ray influence which control every one of the pairs of opposites in the Great Wheel.” (EA 346) Gemini, ‘Lord of Intelligence’, is also closely linked by numerical affinity to the third or Intelligence aspect. “…Gemini is the third sign and embodies what is called ‘a third potency’…” (EA 355) “Ray 3.—Active Intelligence, under the influence of this third sign, Gemini, slowly conditioning the etheric body.” (EA 357)   1.   Expressive of both the second and third aspects of divinity, but especially well-rooted in the third. “Virgo is the focal point for the expression of the third aspect, that of active intelligence. In that sign the highest function of matter is symbolised.” (EA 194, also 280)
2.   Cosmically associated with Sirius. “1. Gemini—forms a point of entrance for cosmic energy from Sirius.” (EA 349) Sirius and Gemini are both related to Masonry. (cf. EA 350) Sirius and Gemini were active together in the individualization process. (cf. EA 355) Gemini is also associated with the Pleiades. “Gemini—Sagittarius—Mercury (which are an expression of the Pleiades) enable the Probationary Disciple to pass on to the Path of Accepted Discipleship.” (EA 466)   2.   Cosmically associated principally with the Pleiades. “One of the most esoteric cycles is based upon certain conjunctions and respective positions of Virgo and the Pleiades.” (EA 657) “Virgo is inseparable from Leo and the Pleiades and the Hyades.” (EA 679) Virgo is related to several feminine constellations which figure importantly in the astrology of the form. “There is Cassiopea, Venus, Coma Berenice, Andromeda and one or two others, as well as Virgo, the Virgin, the most important of them all.” (EA 400)
3.   Three Constellations Connected with Gemini: a) Lepus—the Hare; b) Canis Minor—the Lesser Dog (including Procyon) c) Canis Major—the Greater Dog (including Sirius) (LOH 68-70)   3.   Three Constellations Connected with Virgo: a) Coma Berenice—the Mother of the Form Only; b) The Centaur—Half Man/Half Horse; c) Bootes—the One Who is Coming (LOH 120)
4.   Conduit for the Cosmic Mental Plane—through Sirius   4.   Related to the Cosmic Buddhic Plane—through the Pleiades

Virgo
1.   Mercury is the exoteric ruler of Gemini.
1.   Mercury is the exoteric ruler of Virgo, and is exalted in this sign as well.
2.   Venus is the esoteric ruler of Gemini.   2.   Venus falls in Virgo.
3.   Jupiter is in exoteric detriment in Gemini.   3.   Jupiter is the hierarchical ruler of Virgo.

Subtle Relationships Between Rays, Zodiacal and Planetary Energies

Subtle Relationships Between Rays,
Zodiacal and Planetary Energies

Gemini
In Comparison With
Virgo
1.   Gemini transmits the second ray constellationally   1.   Virgo transmits the second ray constellationally. On the clockwise wheel, Virgo is the eighth sign of the zodiac and, hence, is related to the Christ—Whose number is “eight” (EA 37)—Vulcan, a veiled esoteric ruler of Virgo,  has an association with the second ray, as Vulcan is connected to the “heart of the sun.” (EA 393) Neptune, another veiled esoteric ruler of Virgo, also transmits the second ray monadically. (EPI 421)
2.   Gemini is the third sign of the zodiac on the reversed wheel, and therefore, has numerical affinity with the number three and with the third ray “Ray 3.—Active Intelligence, under the influence of this third sign, Gemini, slowly conditioning the etheric body.” (EA 357)“The fact that Gemini is the third sign and embodies what is called ‘a third potency’ enabled it to reach, with its force, the third kingdom and produce that reaction which resulted in the individualising or the humanising of its higher forms of life.” (EA 355)   2.   Virgo (the second oldest of the constellations) is associated with the third ray—the ray of the previous solar system. This was the solar system with the emphasis upon matter. “Let matter reign.” Mercury, the exoteric ruler of Virgo, and also exalted in this sign,  has a close relation to the third ray. (EA 280). The Moon is anciently related to the third ray, being associated with dense physical “matter” and with the Moon Chain and the first solar system in which the third ray was dominant. Neptune, veiled esoteric ruler, is also with the third ray through its associations with the “waters” which are “matter.” (EA 666, 275)
3.   Gemini is the eleventh sign of the zodiac on the clockwise wheel and, therefore, has numerical affinity with the number two and with the second ray.   3.   See #1 above.
4.   Gemini is the fifth sign of the zodiac if one numbers in polarities (Aries-Libra-Taurus-Scorpio-Gemini-etc.)  This indicates a resonance with the fifth ray.   4.   Mercury has a close relation to the fifth ray, through its relation to the fifth scheme, the fifth round, the fifth race and sub-race. “The fifth race is born under Mercury.” (EA 663). Vulcan has associations with the fifth ray through concretion and the seventh ray, through the mineral kingdom and the principle of rhythm.
5.   Gemini is the tenth sign of the zodiac on the clockwise wheel, IF one begins numbering from Pisces (as the Tibetan does in relation to Leo) This indicates a resonance with the first ray, though there is, otherwise, little first ray to be found within this sign, proper.   5.   Vulcan is a veiled esoteric ruler in Virgo and transmits the first ray.
6.   Mercury is the exoteric ruler of Gemini and transmits the fourth ray. As well, the constellation Gemini is associated with the fourth ray. Ray 4.—Harmony through Conflict, under the influence of Gemini-Sagittarius, staging those situations upon the astral plane which will produce the conflict in the astral body which is essential to the final treading of the burning ground and subsequent release.”  (EA 357)   6.   The Moon is the esoteric ruler of Virgo, and transmits the fourth ray. Vulcan, a veiled esoteric ruler in Virgo, has a close relation to the number four—to the fourth kingdom (the Human Kingdom), the fourth kingdom from the human (the Mineral Kingdom) and to the fourth initiation, and may be involved in a fourth ray transmission through the Moon. (interpret DN 91). Neptune, a veiled esoteric ruler of Virgo,  is associated with the fourth ray through its rulership of the fourth or buddhic plane.
7.   Mercury is closely associated with the third ray, and probably transmits this ray as its personality ray.   7.   See #2 above.
8.   Mercury has a close relation to the fifth ray, through its relation to the fifth scheme, the fifth round, the fifth race and sub-race. “The fifth race is born under Mercury.” (EA 663)   8.   See #4 above.
9.   Venus, the esoteric ruler of Gemini, transmits the fifth ray.   9.   See #4 above.
10.   Venus is “pure love-wisdom” and, therefore, can be seen as transmitting the second ray (probably as the personality ray) (cf. EA 281) “…the second ray is the ray at present of the planetary Logos” (DINA II 210)   10.   See#1 above.
11.   Venus is the “home of the planetary Logos of the sixth Ray” (EA 595) thus transmits the sixth ray, probably monadically, just as Uranus, with its first ray Monad, is the “home of fire electric” (TCF 1154)   11.   Virgo transmits the sixth ray constellationally. As well, Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac on the reversed wheel and, hence, has numerical affinity with the number six and with the sixth ray. Neptune is a veiled esoteric ruler of Virgo and transmits the sixth ray. Jupiter has a possible connection with the sixth ray through its exoteric rulership of Sagittarius and its enthusiastic, aspirational nature.
12.   The Earth is the hierarchical ruler of Gemini and transmits the third ray, its personality ray. “…it was necessary to call attention to this great determining factor, the third ray, which is the personality ray of our planetary Logos.” (EP I 338) (cf. EA 619)   12.   See #2 above.
13.   The Earth transmits the second ray, its soul ray. “It [the first ray] is the monadic ray of our planetary Logos, Whose Soul ray is the second and the personality ray the third.” (EA 619)   13.   See #1 above.
14.   The Earth transmits (however weakly) the first ray—its monadic ray. (cf. EA 619)   14.   See #5 above.
15.   There are no strong seventh ray transmissions through Gemini, proper. Jupiter and Saturn, which have a special relation to this sign (one demonstrating the fusion of Spirit and soul, and the other the confrontation with the Dweller) both have seventh ray components.   15.   Jupiter, the hierarchical ruler of Virgo, transmits the seventh ray through its association with “ritual” and “ritualistic worship.” (EA 648, 660) It is hard to conceive that Virgo, as a constellation, has no relation to the seventh ray because of the traits demonstrated by so many Virgoan individuals. In any case, Virgo is the ruler of the seventh Creative Hierarchy (if the unmanifested Hierarchies are included in the numbering). The Moon (the veiling esoteric ruler)  is also associated with the seventh ray, through its rulership of the seventh manifested Creative Hierarchy and its rulership of the dense part of the seventh plane.

Gemini
In Comparison With
Virgo
1.   The Cosmic Christ (the “Head”)   1.   The Individual Christ
2.   The Divine Son   2.   The Mother
3.   The Solar Angels   3.   The Lunar Lords
4.   Associated with the present solar system of Love: “God is love, we are assured, and this statement is both an exoteric and an esoteric truth. This underlying love of Deity reaches our solar system primarily through Gemini, which forms, with the constellation of the Great Bear and the Pleiades, a cosmic triangle.” (EA 348)   4.   Associated with the past solar system of Intelligence and Matter: “In a previous solar system, this matter aspect was the supreme controlling factor, just as in this solar system it is the soul or the Christ principle which is of paramount importance.” (EA 255)
5.   Gemini—in relation to the transmission of the second ray through the second ray triangle: “Gemini is only found in the triangle of Ray II and at this time,…Today the world is focussed (spiritually or materially) and the fluctuations of the pairs of opposites are much lessened temporarily. Gemini, therefore, is the inactive point of the triangle, though still potent from the esoteric angle of the individual disciple or initiate.   5.   Virgo—in relation to the transmission of the second ray through the second ray triangle: “…Virgo and Pisces are carrying the major task of transmitting second ray energy.” (EA 491)
6.   Gemini upon the Mutable Cross: “Gemini—In the undeveloped man or the average man, the experiences undergone on three arms of the Mutable Cross have brought him to the stage where the ‘dream of life’ can be changed into the recognition of the reality, and the Great Illusion can be seen as undesirable and untrue. The sense of duality is, at this stage, instinctual but becoming increasingly real and steadily more complex. The man begins to dream of stability, of ordered changes and of union with that which he senses to be the most real part of himself. The mystical vision emerges into his consciousness and he becomes aware of the higher self through the first faint flickerings of the intuition.” (EA 119)   6.   Virgo upon the Mutable Cross: “Virgo—In Virgo, the man who was fluid in Pisces and emotionally selfish and full of desire in Sagittarius, begins to focus still more intently and to reason and think. The latent soul is becoming interiorly active; a germination process is proceeding; the hidden man is making his presence felt. The intellect is awakening and instinct—after passing through the emotional stage—is being transmuted into intellect.” (EA 118-119)
7.   Gemini upon the Fixed Cross: “Gemini—The man upon the reversing wheel in Gemini becomes increasingly aware of the intuition and increasingly under the influence of ‘the Brothers who live in the Light,’ as the Twins are sometimes called. The light of the personality dims and the light of the soul waxes. The fluidity of Pisces and the undeveloped Gemini gives place to the responsiveness of the personality to soul impression and consequent stabilising of the life on the physical plane.”  (EA 120)   7.   Virgo upon the Fixed Cross: “Virgo—The mind, under the influence of Virgo, which has been analytical and critical, changes to that quality of mind which is best described by the words, illumination and revelation. The Christ to whom the Virgin must eventually give birth is recognised as present in the womb, though not yet born. Life is recognised. The process of the revelation of the Christ consciousness is [Page 121] carried intelligently forward and the selfish aspirations and experiments of the undeveloped man give place to the selflessness of the illumined and intuitive disciple.” (EA 120-121)
8.   The life of the Christ from the Geminian perspective: “The Gemini aspect of His life is shown in the perfect fusion of the basic duality found in humanity: the human and the divine.” (EA 564)   8.   The life of the Christ from the Virgoan perspective: “The Virgo aspect came into expression in His twelfth year when He said: ‘Wist ye not that I must be about My Father's business,’ thereby indicating the subordination of the form life to the will of the indwelling Christ; this was consummated when ‘divinity descended upon Him’ at the Baptism. (EA 564)
9.   The Sixth and Fourth Rays are Dominant upon the Path of Evolution: Gemini is active in relation to the fourth ray through Mercury. (EA 166)   9.   The Sixth and Fourth Rays are Dominant upon the Path of Evolution: Virgo is active in relation to the fourth ray through Mercury. (EA 166)
10.   Gemini is the third sign of the zodiac, indicating that it is part of the number six, thus linking it to Virgo, the sixth sign of the zodiac. (cf. EA 286)   10.   Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac, indicating that it is the double of the number three, thus linking it so Gemini, the third sign of the zodiac. (cf. EA 286)
11.   Gemini for Unevolved Man: “Changeableness. Instability. Interplay” (EA 182)   11.   Virgo for Unevolved Man: “Material life. The cherishing of an idea.” (EA 182)
12.   Gemini for Evolved Man: “Recognition of soul and form. Soul interplay.” (EA 182)   12.   Virgo for the Evolved Man: “The mother of the Christ Child. Gestation.” (EA 182)
13.   Gemini: “the dual consciousness…or the soul-body realization” (EA 230)   13.   Leo (and Virgo): “…the God-man in Leo-Virgo(EA 230)
14.   Gemini: “Gemini and Virgo are closely related but Gemini presents the pairs of opposites—soul and body—as two separate entities…” (EA 252)   14.   Virgo: “whereas in Virgo, they are blended and of great and supreme importance to each other; the mother protects the germ of the Christ life; matter guards, cherishes and nurtures the hidden soul.”  (EA 252)
15.   Gemini—“a recognized duality” (EA 254)   15.   “Virgo is, therefore, the opposite pole of spirit and stands for the relation of these two…” (EA 254)
16.   Gemini in Relation to Service: “In Gemini, the relation between the great duality of soul and body emerges in which, at this stage, the body or form serves the soul.” (EA 258)   16.   Virgo in Relation to Service: In Virgo, matter or substance exchange or interchange their service and each serves the other.” (EA 258) “It has been said that Virgo ‘involves the service of the immediately present’ or in other words that God immanent evokes reaction from the form side and is thereby served.” (EA 258)
17.   Gemini: “soul and body” (EA 272)   17.   Virgo: “the mother and the child” (EA 272)
18.   “…Gemini, which is the sign of the major opposites as far as humanity is concerned, because it signifies soul and personality, consciousness and form;…” (EA 549)   18.   “…Virgo, the Mother of the Christ-Child, or the form and that which indwells the form.” (EA 549)
19.   Gemini: the “head” of the “Cross of change”  (EA 349)   19.   Virgo: “the Mother” (EA 349)
20.   Mercury as it rules Gemini: “the result of the activity of Mercury as it rules Gemini is to produce a steady pull between the pairs of opposites;…” (EA 358)   20.   Mercury as it rules Virgo: “in Virgo it produces that interior struggle between the exoteric not-self and the esoteric self, between the form-consciousness (planetary, human and subhuman) and the soul within all forms.” (EA 358)
21.   In Gemini: “In Gemini, therefore, you have the two, the pair of opposites and the will-to-relate..” (EA 627)   21.   In Virgo: “; in Virgo, you have their [the pair of opposites’]work in cooperation, the nurturing of the life of that second ray phenomenon, a Christ, the consummation of the task of matter and its elevation into heaven.” (EA 627)
22.   Gemini—for the Undeveloped Man: “Mutation of relation. ‘I serve myself’.” (EA 332)   22.   Virgo—for the Undeveloped Man: “The germinating energy. The Mother.” (EA 332)
23.   Gemini—for the Advanced Man: “Orientation of ‘I serve my brother’.” (EA 332)   23.   Virgo—for the Advanced Man: “The creative force. The Protector.” (EA 332)
24.   Gemini—for the Disciple/Initiate: “Right relation ‘I serve the One’.” (EA 332)   24.   Virgo—for the Disciple/Initiate: “The Christ activity. The Light.” (EA 332)
25.   Yearly Opportunity in Relation to Gemini: When the Sun is in Gemini, an individual may cultivate the dialogue between soul and personality—a dialogue which stimulates the intuition. “In the coming world religion this fact will be noted and in the month of June, which is essentially the month in which the influences of Gemini are peculiarly strong, due advantage will be taken in order to bring man nearer to the spiritual realities.” (EA 355)   25.   Yearly Opportunity in Relation to Virgo: When the Sun is in Virgo, an individual “will know that opportunity to bring the form more under the influence of the hidden Christ is possible…” (EA 564)
26.   The Life of the Christ from a Geminian Perspective: “The Gemini aspect of His life is shown in the perfect fusion of the basic duality found in humanity: the human and the divine.” (EA 564)   26.   The Life of the Christ from a Virgoan Perspective: “The Virgo aspect came into expression in His twelfth year when He said: ‘Wist ye not that I must be about My Father's business,’ thereby indicating the subordination of the form life to the will of the indwelling Christ; this was consummated when ‘divinity descended upon Him’ at the Baptism. Similarities and Points of Cooperation Between the Influences

 Similarities and Points of Cooperation
Between the Zodiacal Influences

Both are mutable signs intimately involved with the birthing of the Christ consciousness. Gemini creates the dialogue between the higher and lower self and Virgo the nurturing of the Christ life within the womb of  the personality. B

oth signs, via their rulership by Mercury, are keenly associated with the intelligence especially in the early phases with the concrete mind – Gemini rendering the concrete mind flexible and  Virgo rendering it meticulous but if the rays transmitted through the constellations are assessed, it will be noted that the 2nd Ray passes through Gemini and the 2nd and 6th Rays through Virgo – the Christ force thereby being greatly accentuated through these signs.

Again the two signs give the opportunity of uniting intelligence with the heart.

Being ruled by Mercury and distributing the 6th ray, both Gemini and Virgo have an ability to handle a mass of detail. Gemini does so in a strictly more intellectual sense and Virgo with a greater awareness of the practical application of this detail.

The opportunity to unite the 2nd and 3rd aspects of divinity can be seen by examining the greater constellations which are associated with these signs – Sirius with Gemini and the Pleiades with Virgo.

The Pleiades is the major source of the 3rd aspect and Sirius, for us at this time, a major source of the 2nd aspect energy.

Through Mercury and through the 5th Ray of Venus, both signs give emotional objectivity. A certain coolness and detachment towards the emotions  allow analysis to be profitably applied to the emotional sphere.

Analysis is one commonality between the two; through their agency the personality becomes the servant of the higher self. Gemini induces the interplay between the soul and personality and Virgo induces the cleanses of the personality so that the influence of the higher self may be received.

From the health perspective Gemini is associated with the etheric body and Virgo with the physical body, united in their influence there will be adequate circulation of light, love and mentality through these two vehicles. Upon the path of discipleship a degree of objectivity is required in order to disassociate from the glamors and illusions of the astral plane and even from the illusions of the mental plane.

Both signs, highly intelligent, give this capacity for disassociation through an objective examination of states. They are major signs of discrimination and clarification and contribute being on the mutable cross as they are to the birth of the Christ consciousness and the nurturance of the Christ consciousness within the personality.

Missing or Weak Links Between Gemini and Virgo

Only the seventh ray is weakly represented. No seventh ray arises through the ordinarily associated energies and forces of Gemini. Jupiter and Saturn, in special association with Gemini, could bring some seventh ray forward.
