7.   Transmits R1 and R5 constellationally   7.   Transmits R4, R5 and R6 constellationally
8.   Secondarily, (assuredly, but not exclusively), Leo  transmits R2, R6 and R7 through the ‘Sun’ and the veiled Neptune and Uranus—its unveiled and veiled ruling planets on three levels—exoteric, esoteric and hierarchical.   8.   Secondarily, (assuredly, but not exclusively) Sagittarius transmits R2, R3 and R6 through Jupiter, the Earth and Mars—its three planetary rulers on three levels—exoteric, esoteric and hierarchical..
9.   Color: orange   9.   Color: rich blue
10.   Creative Hierarchy number I (manifested), and VI of the twelve. Divine Flames, Divine Lives   10.   Creative Hierarchy number VI (manifested), the Lunar Lords, or Sacrificial Fires.
11.   Associated with the Self-orienting first, the ‘solar-hearted’ second, (EA 298), the soul-dominant third and blazingly revelatory fifth initiations, and perhaps the consummately glorious seventh—all powerfully Sun-like. Especially the first and fifth are involved with Leo—the first giving entrance to the Fifth Kingdom and the fifth, by numerical affinity, can be seen as stimulated by the fifth sign.   11.   Associated with the instinct-directing, ‘soul-ward’ orienting, ‘form-abstractive’ first initiation; with the fierily-baptizing, ideal-containing, de-glamorizing, clear-eyed second initiation, and with the direction-choosing, outward-bound, adventuring, nirvanic sixth initiation—the initiation of Decision.

12.   Leo can be reasonably associated with the radiating , group-magnetizing heart center (and with the entire head center as well—the crown, the dome which is the organ of the ‘dominating’ soul or Spirit). “Leo within the heart and head shouted aloud and stood whilst Saturn did his work ... and thus the twain were one.” (EA431) Leo can influence the solar plexus as one center of focus for the dominant personality (emotionally dominant) which Leo rules. The ajna center is the organ of the integrated (and dominating) personality which is also, generically, ruled by Leo. May not Leo also be associated with the heart center within the head? (Leo is ruled by the Sun; Vulcan may substitute for the Sun; Vulcan rules the “heart of the Sun”; the heart of the Sun works through the heart center within the head.)

  12.  Sagittarius can be reasonably associated with the insistently driving, aspiring, fiery solar plexus center; with the instinctively-hunting, passion-driven sacral center, and even with the center at the base of the spine, where the latent fire (Mars) awaits its rising; Earth (with its first ray Monad and a symbol identical to the fourfold structure of the base center) is the esoteric ruler of Sagittarius, connecting it to that lowest center.  The personality-directing, clear-seeing, force controlling ajna center should also be influenced strongly by Sagittarius, at a relatively high point in the evolutionary process.
13.   The zodiacal signs influence the Monad of every human being (EA 411, 637, TCF 1191); the influence from Leo preserves within the Monad the will of the King of Shamballa (Who reflects the wills of the planetary and solar Logoi.) Leo makes of the Monad the true center of selfhood, and yet a “relinquished point” (EA 332) in a planetary sphere, the center of which is everywhere—within the planetary ring-pass-not.   13.   The zodiacal signs influence the Monad of every human being (EA 411, 637, TCF 1191); the influence from Sagittarius guides the Monad on its descent into material immersion, and, again, through an inherently flawless sense of direction, guides the Monad upon its path of return. Sagittarius contributes to the conviction of “monadic destiny”, and destination.
14.   Within the Triad—Leo can be related principally to atma, the spiritual will, as it reflects the will of the “Central Spiritual Sun”—the monadic aspect, whether of man, the planetary Logos or the solar Logos. Since Leo, the second fire sign, is associated with the second ray and with consciousness, it can be related to the revelations of divine love and illumined wisdom emanating from buddhi. The ruler of Leo is the Sun, transmitting the second ray—the ray expressed through buddhi. The fifth ray transmitted through Leo relates it to higher manas.   14.   Within the Triad—Sagittarius is focused in both buddhi and higher manas—the abstract mind. Sagittarius transmits the fourth ray, which relates to the fourth, or buddhic,  plane and the principle of  buddhi.  Sagittarius is one of the intuitive signs. (EA 177) In Sagittarius, intuition (fourth ray, second principle) governs aspiration (sixth ray—which Sagittarius also transmits) (cf. EA 178) Sagittarius is at once philosophical (utilizing the abstract mind) and intuitive. The blend of buddhi and higher manas may be called “universal or spiritual mind” which Sagittarius expresses in relation to Mercury. (EA 369)
15.   In relation to the Solar Angel, and the soul-consciousness (and causal body) through which it expresses—Leo is a pervasive and fundamental solar influence. The causal body is a “sun-flower”; soul-consciousness is to the personality as a luminous sun; and the Solar Angel emanates (with respect to our system) from the “heart of the sun”. In a broad sense, Leo can be seen as governing the radiant light, magnetic love, luminous consciousness,  and authoritative power of the Solar Angel which it wills, assertively, to express through the personality.   15.   In relation to the Solar Angel, and the soul-consciousness (and causal body) through which it expresses—Sagittarius can be seen as the will of the Solar Angel to inspire its personality to a state of aspiration through the presentation of an elevating vision of future spiritual possibilities. As well, when the personality errs (as oft it does), Sagittarius represents the ‘guiding beam of light’ which offers a secure sense of spiritual direction—directing, at length, to the mountain of initiation.
16.   Within the Personality—Leo can be identified with dominating and imposing attitudes within the lower mental nature; with the dramatic and expressive qualities of the astral nature—Leo is correlated with the astral permanent atom (EA 302); with the prana and natural radiance of the etheric vehicle; and, in general, with the strength of the dense physical vehicle. Leo is related to the integrated personality as a whole. (EA 253, 486, 620) (The vehicular focus and its degree of prominence, depends upon the stage of evolutionary development.)   16.   Within the Personality—Sagittarius can be identified with the directing, thought-projecting power of the lower mental nature and its eventual responsiveness to intuitive guidance; with the passional and eventual aspirational processes of the astral nature; with the vibrancy and buoyancy of the etheric nature; and with the general tendency to energetic activity of the dense physical nature. Sagittarius is particularly associated with the integrated, one-pointed, disciplic personality.(The vehicular focus and its degree of prominence, depends upon the stage of evolutionary development.)
17.   Stage of Meditative Consciousness: Concentration. “Leo—Concentration—Soul life focussed in form. Individualisation. Self-consciousness. Undeveloped and average man. Human experience.” (EA 228)   17.   Stage of Meditative Consciousness: Inspiration. “Sagittarius—Inspiration—Preparation for initiation. Soul inspires personality life. Soul expresses itself through personality. The Initiate.” (EA 229)
18.   The Crisis of the Burning Ground characterized by the process of Liberation (EA 472)   18.   The Choice of Direction

Wider Relationships: Cosmic and Systemic

Leo
In Comparison With
Sagittarius
1.   Expressive primarily of the second and first aspects of divinity. “Leo is the focal point for the expression of the second aspect, the love-wisdom or consciousness aspect. This, primarily where humanity is concerned.” (EA 194) Leo is also the second fire sign. Its transmission of the first ray connects Leo to the first aspect, and the transmission of the fifth ray, to the first as well as the third.   1.   Expressive principally of the third aspect of divinity because it is the third fire sign. “From Aries comes cosmic fire; from Sagittarius comes planetary fire; and from Leo comes solar fire; and each of these fires ‘clears the way by burning’ for the expression of the three divine aspects: spirit (Aries), soul (Leo) and body (Sagittarius).” (EA 293) Expressive of the second or consciousness aspect, through its majority of soft-line constellation and planetary rays.
2.   Strongly associated with Sirius.” Leo, in the cosmic sense (and apart from our solar system altogether) is ruled by Sirius. Sirius is the home of that greater Lodge to which our fifth initiation admits a man and to which it brings him, as a humble disciple.” (EA 299) “The influences of Sirius, three in number, are focussed in Regulus, which is, as you know, a star of the first magnitude and which is frequently called ‘the heart of the Lion’.” (EA 300) “Third Triangle: Sirius—Leo—Jupiter—Hierarchy.” (EA 417) “…Sirius governs Leo.” (EA 299) (also 447 re Sirius, Leo, Uranus and first initiation)
Also cosmically related to the Great Bear. Leo “is also peculiarly susceptible to the influence of that Pointer in the Great Bear which is the nearest to the Pole Star.” (EA196) Leo transmits energy from the Great Bear to Saturn and, thence, Shamballa. (cf. EA 427-428, 435)
  2.   Definite cosmic association with the Pleiades and probably with the Little Bear (particularly Polaris—the Pole Star).  “Pleiades—Gemini/Sagittarius—Mercury” (EA 50) “GeminiSagittariusMercury (which are an expression of the Pleiades) enable the Probationary Disciple to pass on to the Path of Accepted Discipleship.” “…The Pointers; these point to the Pole star which is at this time a major ‘star of direction’.” (EA 195) It should be noted that Sagittarius is a major sign of direction. If Leo and Aries rule the two Pointers, then the third fire sign, Sagittarius, should be connected with Polaris. Also, Sirius, Gemini and Sagittarius probably formed a triangle at the time of man’s individualization. (cf. EA 355) Sagittarius and Betelgeuse are related to the third cosmic path: “Source— Betelgeuse, via the sign Sagittarius.” (EA 1257)
3.   Three Constellations Connected with Leo: a) Hydra—the Serpent; b) Crater—the Cup; c) Corvus—the Raven (LOH 105-108)   3.   Three Constellations Connected with Sagittarius: a) Lyra—the Seven Stringed Harp; b) Ara—the Altar; c) Draco—the Serpent of Wisdom (LOH 166-167)

10.   There are no obvious lines of comparison between the ruling planets of both signs.
10.   Jupiter channels the lowest energies of the threefold Sun (Leo exoteric ruler). (EA 297)   11.   Jupiter is the exoteric ruler of Sagittarius.
11.   The Earth is always heliocentrically opposite the Sun. The Sun rules Leo on all three levels.   12.   Earth is the esoteric ruler of Sagittarius.

Subtle Relationships Between Ray, Zodiacal and Planetary Energies

Leo
In Comparison With
Sagittarius
1.   Leo transmits the first ray constellationally   1.   Earth, the esoteric ruler of Sagittarius, transmits the first ray monadically. (EA 619)  Mars (and its School) are expressive of the first ray. (TCF 1179)
2.   Leo transmits the fifth ray constellationally.   2.   Sagittarius transmits the fifth ray constellationally. Further, Sagittarius is the fifth sign on the clock-wise wheel and hence, has numerical affinity with the fifth ray. Mars, the hierarchical ruler, has strong fifth ray relations, through its orange color and its connection to science and the five senses.
3.   Leo is the fifth sign of the zodiac on the reversed wheel and, hence, has numerical affinity with the number five and with the fifth ray.   3.   See #2 above.
4.   Leo is the ninth sign of the zodiac on the reversed wheel—proceeding by polarities (Aries-Scorpio, Taurus-Scorpio, etc.). Since nine is the number connected with the ray three cycle (EPI 348-349), Leo, in its more material aspect, is connected with the third ray.   4.   Sagittarius is the ninth sign of the zodiac on the reversed wheel. Nine is the number of the number three. The third ray has a 900 year cycle. (EPI 348-349). The Earth, esoteric ruler of Sagittarius, transmits the third ray as its personality ray. Mars serves as the astral body to a third ray Entity. (EPII 99)
5.   Leo is the eighth sign of the zodiac on the clockwise wheel (IF counting begins with Pisces as number one) and, hence, has numerical affinity with the Christ, and with Mercury (EA 298) the “Messenger at the eighth gate” “Eight is, under some numerical systems, regarded as the number of the Christ.” (EA 37)   5.   Sagittarius has a close relation to the winged god, Mercury, even though Mercury is in detriment in this sign.. “He "flies from point to point, searching for the arrows which he has discharged." He has, figuratively speaking, to dismount constantly from his white horse (the developed and purified personality) and find where the arrows of intuitional aspiration will take him; he travels upon the "wings of the soul" (note the relationship to the winged feet of Mercury, the messenger of the Gods) and becomes, in his own personality, himself the winged God:..” (EA 181)
6.   The Sun (veiling an unknown planet) is esoteric, exoteric and hierarchical ruler of Leo, and transmits the second ray through its (the Sun’s) soul and personality. “It is the ray which governs the ‘personality’ of our solar Logos, if such an expression may be used, and (because it is dual) it indicates both His personality and soul rays,...” (EPI 334)   6.   Jupiter, the exoteric ruler of Sagittarius, transmits the second ray, most probably through its soul. Earth, the esoteric ruler of Sagittarius, transmits the second ray through its second ray soul (EA 619).
7.   The Sun, even exoterically, may veil Jupiter, which transmits the second, seventh, and (possibly) sixth rays. “In connection with the Mutable Cross, the rays of the Sun in a threefold form (combining the lowest energies of the threefold Sun) pour into and through the man, via Jupiter. Jupiter is the agent of the second ray which the Sun expresses—cosmically and systemically.” (EA 297)   7.   See # 6 immediately above, and #8 and #12 below.
8.   Neptune is the veiled esoteric ruler of Leo and transmits the sixth ray.   8.   Sagittarius transmits the sixth ray constellationally—with especial strength. Numbering the signs by polarities (Aries-Libra, Taurus-Scorpio, etc.), Sagittarius is the sixth in order, giving it numerical affinity with the sixth ray. Jupiter, the exoteric ruler, has possible sixth ray associations through enthusiasm and the “worship” aspect of ritual  Mars, the hierarchical ruler, transmits the sixth ray.
9.   Neptune transmits the second ray monadically (EPI 421).   9.   See #6 above.
10.   Neptune is associated with the fourth ray through its rulership of buddhi and the buddhic plane.(EA 666)   10.   Sagittarius transmits the fourth ray constellationally. Further,  Sagittarius is the fourth sign of the zodiac upon the clockwise wheel, numbering from Pisces. (cf. also EA 357) Earth has a close relationship to the fourth ray through its planetary order (fourth from the Sun if Vulcan is counted) and its symbol. (the fourfold, even-armed cross within a circle). Mars, the “God of War” must be related to the lower aspect of the fourth ray—that which produces the conflict which precedes harmony.
11.   Neptune, “God of the Waters”, is associated with the third ray, because “water” is “matter.” “EA 275)   11.   See #4 above.
12.   Uranus is the veiled hierarchical ruler of Leo, and transmits the seventh ray.   12.   Jupiter, the exoteric ruler, transmits the seventh ray through “ritualistic worship” (EA 648, 660)
13.   Uranus transmits the first ray monadically. (EPI 421)   13.   See #1 above.
14.   Uranus is closely associated with the third ray, and may well transmit this ray as its personality ray. “Two of our planets, the Earth (non-sacred) and Uranus (sacred), are directly the product of this third ray activity.” (EA 200)   14.   See #4 above.
15.   Uranus is part of a second ray transmission from Sirius, via Pisces, and, also, is most probably the mental body within the manifestation of a great second ray Entity. (EPII 99)   15.   See #6 above.
16.   Uranus is closely related to the fifth ray through its rulership of “exoteric science.” (EA 149)   16.   See #2 above.

Similarities and Points of Cooperation Between the Influences

 Similarities and Points of Cooperation
Between the Zodiacal Influences

(the following coloured text is copied in the introductory material
in this section's table of contents)

What becomes clear is there are many spheres of potential activity and not all signs or planets are equally active in all spheres or fields of activity but that each sign has a wide range of points of application and the fact that these points of application are on different levels of activity, should not mean to us that the kinds of actions produced, cannot have been produced by the same sign.

There are numerous qualities emanating from each sign or constellation and numerous potential spheres of activity for them to apply themselves to.  Different qualities can apply themselves to the same sphere of activity or the same quality can apply itself to different spheres of activity and different qualities can apply themselves to different spheres of activity and this leads to the necessity to always to consider the heterogeneity of any sign just as we would the heterogeneity of any individual with his/her multiple facets.

It is interesting when considering the three fire signs, Aries, Leo and Sagittarius, the alignment is usually given as Aries representing the Monad, Leo the Soul and Sagittarius the body or personality.  When considering the alignment of the three signs in relation to the two pointers and Polaris, Sagittarius is related to the directing power of the monad. Aries is associated with Merak and the Soul which initiates incarnation, human incarnation and Leo is related to the personality.

It is even conceivable to think of Leo representing the king or the monad for Leo has important 1st and 2nd Ray meanings as does the monad. Sagittarius the directing and far-seeing soul, the thinker whose home is the higher mind, ruled in part by Sagittarius, and Aries representing the body, the principle of activity just as Aries represents the body in the horoscope because it is so closely associated with the first house. Suffice it to say the three periodic vehicles are directly connected with these three fire signs.

Leo and Sagittarius are both fire signs and therefore connected with the spirit for the true identity is fire.

Spirit is the true identity, spirit is fire and all fire signs are equally related to the light-giving powers of mind.

Both Leo and Sagittarius can be associated with the monad and both Leo and Sagittarius can be associated with the personality which is the body and perhaps with the soul as well, as previously explained.

They are both signs of expansion.  Leo seeks expansion of the self and Sagittarius the expansion of the range of contacts, leading ultimately to the wisdom.  So for Leo it is principally an expansion of power and for Sagittarius, higher knowledge and wisdom.

The expansive nature is somewhat Jupiterian and Jupiter is the exoteric ruler of Sagittarius and can be considered as veiled by the Sun in the exoteric position in Leo.

There is a close connection between Jupiter and the Sun as demonstrated by their co-rulership of the heart center and the statement that the Sun is the eye of Jupiter and that Jupiter was the king, ie Sun of the Gods.

The sphere of the higher mind is ruled by Sagittarius and as previously indicated, the egoic lotus under Leo, that great sunflower is focused within the higher three subplanes of the mental plane, the sphere of the higher mind.

Both have dominion over this field. The mind as associated with Leo, will perhaps function with closer reference to the principle of self-hood, the self will be a constant factor in the thoughts, whereas the mind, in association with Sagittarius will be the higher mind and the sense of abstraction, will leave the sense of self-hood far behind.

Sagittarius gives entrance into the mind of God, the mind of the planetary logos and we do see that Earth is an esoteric ruler of Sagittarius. In the mind of that great being, the vision of the Plan counts for much and the place of the individual is greatly reduced in scope. The individual no longer looms large.

We can see this attitude with Sagittarian fanaticism in which the rights of the individual represented by Leo and the Sun are suppressed in the interests of what is seen as the ideal.

There is much of the number one connecting these two signs.  Leo of course, is a first Ray sign and its ruling planet is the Sun which is a symbol of unity and the glyph of Leo, the lion's tail, is a singular, non-dualistic sign.

Now Sagittarius has dualism but it is a sign of one-pointedness, of singleness of vision.  In Sagittarius, somehow the two eyes so seemingly independent in Gemini, and representing the pro and con perspective, become as one eye, the wisdom, the eye of the prophet, the eye of Shiva.

So a sense of synthesis is created in higher Sagittarius and all this without any real first Ray coming through that particular sign unless it be as a secondary Ray of Mars or a secondary Ray of the earth or possibly a very remote Ray in association with Jupiter. (Here I am not speaking of the Rays usually assigned to these planets.)

Singleness is also prominent in Leo, especially singleness of purpose and again the unified vision. Jupiter certainly contributes to this unified vision in Sagittarius  and if it is the veiled exoteric ruler of Leo, it would also contribute but Leo also tends to see things in terms of  oneness and is much associated with that state of consciousness or being known as, "Isolated Unity" in which the whole is somehow isolated despite multifarious, distinct perceptions.

So Leo too, is related to the wisdom, to synthetic vision but perhaps it is more the sense of identification in Leo.  Knowing oneself and feeling oneself to be the one and more the sense of vision in Sagittarius.

Nevertheless, singleness, whether singleness of purpose or whether singleness of vision, is a unifying factor between them and from one perspective, the Sun is considered a great eye and when the first aspect of divinity comes into relationship with the third aspect of divinity, ie the Crown with the Ajna center and they swing into each other's orbit, a great light is produced and this light which can be related to Leo and Sun produces the "seership" which is possible to Sagittarius.

These two signs also carry much of the sixth Ray, Sagittarius profoundly so, seeing as it is hierarchically ruled by 6th Ray Mars and is the major distributor constellationally, of the 6th Ray and Leo in a slightly lesser sense but still prominently as Leo is the ruler of the sixth great creative hierarchy, which is the first of the manifested hierarchies.

We must always remember that the Leo influence will carry the number 6 with it because our Solar Logos is focused upon the plane of cosmic desire, the 6th cosmic plane and in this sense this great being is a son of desire and we are  mere fragmentary units of life within this great being. Also the Neptunian rulership esoterically of Leo, brings in the 6th Ray.

Both signs being fire signs, will be ardent, burning, the fires may be the fires of self-hood or the fires of desire but they will produce the change and progress that all fire produces.  So there will be a strong desire nature activation in both signs. Sagittarians will race for it because it is a sign of outgoing and travel and Leo will perhaps pursue it in a more centered manner.

Both signs then will be related to the solar plexus. Sagittarius, naturally so ruling the ardent astral body, ardent for the pursuit of lower desire or ardent in aspiration and Leo because it is the solar plexus and as such re-enforces the sense of the limited personal ego.  Personality under Leo can form a close alliance with the astral body and the constant pursuit of personal desire only strengthens the limited sense of self-hood, "I am what I want."

Clearly Leo is also associated with the heart which Sagittarius is not and once the fiery, upward aspiration of higher Mars in relation to Sagittarius combines with Neptune in Leo, (Neptune the ruler of the solar flames) these two signs can bring about the fiery union of heart and solar plexus, therefore of soul and personality - all this related very much to the combining of the influences of the 2nd and 6th Ray.

I would say there is a strong wisdom influence in each of these signs especially at a certain point of evolution.  Sagittarius can produce the deep thinker, the wide thinker and the wide principles of understanding which have animated all great religious and philosophical traditions become formulated in the consciousness of the wisdom-seeking Sagittarian.

The Leonian will also pursue wisdom but it will perhaps be a more personal wisdom - the wisdom of individual experience and this can degenerate as the Tibetan has described when speaking of 2nd Ray glamors of personal wisdom, "I have been through this therefore you will go through this,  my own personal insights are wise."  Wisdom depends upon the higher light and both of these signs are equipped to penetrate into the higher light, mostly under the 2nd Ray and Jupiter and they are clearly signs of expansion.

Continuing with the idea of expansion, the self seeks wider and wider scope for the display of its powers, for its expression. It seeks to expand uninterruptedly as a sphere of light and power. This of course, is the Leo attitude. It dislikes the idea of containment and that is why, from one perspective, Saturn the principle of containment and limitation, is not comfortably placed in Leo.

Sagittarius also a Jupiterian sign, moves through space to establish wider and wider horizons. Not so much horizons of dominion, for Leo is a 1st Ray sign of rulership and ultimately is ruled by Uranus hierarchically (just as is Aries).

Leo seeks to become the master in power over all it surveys. Sagittarius seeks more to become the master in knowledge shall we say, of all its surveys and wider and broader horizons are ever pursued.

In this way, both signs can become extremely progressive because self-hood ever needs a wider scope in which to express its full potential - that is Leo.  The pursuit of truth is endless and requires the encompassing of the known and eventually the unknown universe with the mind and the mind becomes and ever-expanding sphere in Sagittarius.

The concept of truth is important to both signs. Leo may lie to save its self-image in the early days and Sagittarius may lie to defend and ideal to which it is ardently committed -- but the Sun and Leo afterall are akin to the principle of luminosity and there is associated with Leo, a certain will to justify knowledge coming under the fifth Ray and this Ray the "truth loving" Ray, is shared by Sagittarius which distributes the 4th, 5th and 6th Rays.

So Sagittarius is known as the truth speaker and the truth seeker. The natives of both of these signs, if highly developed, therefore seek to move into greater and greater light and to distance themselves from prevarication and from the darkness which lies represent.

In Leo we have the fearless speaking of the truth, honesty, integrity, largeness of soul, and nobility; the lie being considered petty.

In Sagittarius we find the injudicious speaking of the truth but generally an uncontrolled frankness which is also too-high minded to engage in the lie, therefore the similarity via this 5th Ray is a significant one and the natives of both signs may be animated by the spirit of truth.

Now considering the ageless wisdom and the one true school of occultism whose center is Shamballa, there is much to associate Leo with Shamballa because it is a first Ray sign and with the source of all illumination because Shamballa is the great center of unfettered enlightenment ruled by the king - Leo - Sanat Kumara and the great schools of the mysteries, the universities of occultism, have always been associated with Sagittarius.

So the two signs combine in relation to the 5th ray, in relation to their luminosity, in relation to their Jupiterian character and expansive character to represent the mystery schools from one point of view and it is indeed interesting to me that the University of the Seven Rays  has the Sun in Leo with Sagittarius rising and is an international (Sagittarius) distributor and storehouse of the Wisdom. Its business is illumination (Leo) and it will go anywhere (Sagittarius) to do that particular task.

The great purpose of the new schools of occultism is to bring forward the spirit aspect and to place man in touch with that regal and distant objective. I have already shown how both Leo and Sagittarius are associated with that point of spirit and surely Aries is as well.

In all of this study there are so many factors associated with so many things and so many levels that one wonders how to make sense out of the confusing web of relationships but by going over these relationships carefully and in justifying them, showing the reason why they exist and not merely asserting that they do, we are contributing to the capacity of the reader to develop pure reason and that instantaneous knowing of cause and effect simultaneously, which the Tibetan has said is the gift of the advanced 2nd Ray consciousness.

So what seems laborious now and intricate, will at length become immediate, spontaneous and the simplicity of the rational will leap to the consciousness but labor is required as a preliminary stage.
