7.   Transmits R3 constellationally

  7.   Transmits R2 and R6, with a possible secondary transmission of R3 (matter—the “waters of space”)

8.   Secondarily, (assuredly, but not exclusively) Libra transmits R5, R7 and R3 through Venus, Uranus and Saturn—its three planetary rulers on three levels—exoteric, esoteric and hierarchical.

  8.   Secondarily, (assuredly, but not exclusively), Pisces transmits R2, R1 and R6, through Jupiter, Pluto and Neptune—its planetary rulers on three levels—exoteric, esoteric and hierarchical.

9.   Color: indigo. Green (strong Saturn) should not be ignored.

  9.   Color: lavender

10.   Creative Hierarchy number III (manifested) which is number VII (of all twelve). Lesser Builders, Conferring Form, the Triple Flowers.

  10.  Creative Hierarchy number I (unmanifested) characterized by the energy of Intelligent Substance

11.   Associated with the regulatory, balancing, reorienting first initiation; with the proportion-inducing, ideal-subduing, de-glamorizing second initiation, and with the decisive, nirvanic sixth initiation—the initiation of Decision.

  11.   Associated with the Fixed-Cross-mounting first initiation (cf. EA 125); the purifying, desire-releasing second initiation; the crucifying, death-dealing fourth initiation, as well as the liberating Path-revealing fifth initiation, which in this case opens to the “world saviour” the door to Shamballa and to great revelation through self-abnegating willingness to serve the Divine Will. (cf. EA 141, 320-321, for the fourth and fifth initiations) Since, Pisces brings about the “consummation of divine desire”, the sixth initiation which restores the ‘Savior-Monad’ to complete power may also be indicated.

12.   Libra can be reasonably associated with the sexually-unitive, form-generating sacral center, and with the decision-making, force-balancing, triadally responsive ajna center. Libra has so much of the third ray (as do its rulers Uranus and Saturn, with Venus ruling Taurus, the sign of the throat) that throat center influence is to be expected. Libra can be connected be connected with the center at the base of the spine, from which stems the Sushumna—the “royal road” to Shamballa. (cf. EA 168)

12.   Pisces can be reasonably associated with the centers in the soles of the feet, giving humility, ‘under-standing’, and the power to tread the Path. Pisces is also strongly related to the solar plexus center (in relation to which purification of desire and detachment must prevail) and to the compassionate, all-embracing, all-forgiving heart center—these centers being ruled, in part, by Neptune, special ruler of Pisces. Pisces can, at a high point of evolution, condition the ajna center (when Alpha {Aries—crown center} and Omega {Pisces—ajna}) meet. The buddhically-resonant heart within the head, of which the Buddha, Himself, is a symbol (EXH 87) is another significant association.

13.   The zodiacal signs influence the Monad of every human being (EA 411, 637, TCF 1191); the influence from Libra governs the ‘Path of Return”, by means of which the immersed Monad regains its originating source. (cf. EA 168) Libra also endows the Monad with power from the Dragon and Pleiades and ensures that the Monad performs its part in the balancing of planetary karma, for every Monad is a cell within the planetary Logos.

  13.   The zodiacal signs influence the Monad of every human being (EA 411, 637, TCF 1191); the influence from Pisces provides the foundational motivation for the entire monadic pilgrimage, for every Monad is a “Lord of ceaseless, persevering devotion” (EA 117) and, under the influence of Pisces—a savior. The monadic pilgrimage is entirely sacrificial, and is undertaken for purposes of redemption. Pisces both symbolizes and impulses the humanly unfathomable Self-abnegation which send the Monad forth. “Go forth into matter”, is one mantram of Pisces.

14.   In relation to the Triad—it can be said that Libra (the ruler of the third manifested Creative Hierarchy—the Triple Flowers) rules the Spiritual Triad as a whole. Within the Triad Libra, transmitting constellationally (exoterically) only the third ray, and related to “super-mind”, is clearly influential in relation to the higher mind—higher manas. Libra and Saturn are also express through the atmic plane, and hence are related to the principle—atma—Spiritual Will. Not surprisingly, Libra “admits the soul” to Shamballa. Eventually, Libra, ruling the union of all polarities, will be shown to be related to buddhi as well.

  14.   Within the Triad—Pisces (which transmits the second ray)  is principally related to the second principle buddhi, as it expresses the divine love, wisdom and understanding which redeem. Pisces is also one of the intuitive signs connecting it to buddhi. Pisces eventually induces a “pervasiveness of wisdom” (EA 136), and wisdom is the influence of the first aspect upon the second (as in the case of the Buddha). (cf. DINA II 518) In Pisces there is a powerful sensitivity to the will of God, (“Father, not my will by Thine by done”) and thus to the atmic aspect of the Triad—and to the Monad. Pisces, transcending Mercury, is less related to higher manas.

15.   In relation to the Solar Angel, and the soul-consciousness (and causal body) through which it expresses—Libra represents the skill, wisdom and power of the Solar Angel to supervise a balanced development in its personality. Libra is one of the major signs of karma, which the Solar Angel wisely administrates to ensure that the personality is eventually governed by the Law of Love.

  15.   In relation to the Solar Angel, and the soul-consciousness (and causal body) through which it expresses—Pisces is the energy of the will-to-save which animates those “Hearts of Fiery Love” known as Agnishvattas, or Solar Angels. Pisces (in which Solar Angelic Venus is exalted) provides the originating incentive for the sacrifice which the Solar Angels made aeons ago, on behalf of the human Monads, and in service of the Planetary Logos. Pisces governs the Solar Angel as Savior.

16.   Within the Personality—Libra can be identified with the evaluative, judicial  and decision-making processes of the lower mental nature; with balancing and proportion-inducing processes within the astral nature; with the harmonizing of energy flows within the etheric nature; and, in general, with the energetic balance of the dense physical form. Libra has a special connection with the mental permanent atom. (EA 302) (The vehicular focus and its degree of prominence, depends upon the stage of evolutionary development.)

  16.   Within the Personality—Pisces can be identified with the impressionability and eventual intuitive sensitivity of the lower mental nature; with the sentient permeability, and imaginative, tranquilizing processes within the astral nature; with the induction of quietude within the etheric nature; and with the general sensitivity of the dense physical vehicle. (The vehicular focus and its degree of prominence, depends upon the stage of evolutionary development.)

17.   Stage of Meditative Consciousness: Contemplation. Libra—Contemplation—Life of soul and form is balanced. Neither dominates. Equilibrium. An interlude wherein the soul organises itself for battle and the personality waits. This is the probationary path. Duality known.” (EA 228)

  17.   Stage of Meditative Consciousness: Identification

18.   The Crisis of Balance (between soul and personality) leading to Reversal (EA 101, 265)

  18.   The Choice of Method of Salvation (such as that which confronted the Christ in the Garden of Gethsemene)

1.   Expressive, principally of the third aspect of the divinity, with an expression of the second aspect slowly emerging.” “This sign is consequently closely connected with the third aspect of the Godhead.” (EA 243) “It is through a study of Libra that light upon the third aspect will come.” (EA 244) “Libra—Divine Love—Understanding” (EA333)

  1.   Expressive principally of the second divine aspect, with a lengthy history connected to the material substance (“water”) of the third. There is some emphasis upon the liberating will of the first aspect. “In Pisces, you have the consummation of the work of that which the matter aspect has made possible, and the Christ emerges as the world saviour. All this has taken place through the will aspect of the second ray, focussed in Shamballa, expressing itself through humanity and consummated in the Hierarchy. (EA 627-628)

2.   Related cosmically to the Pleiades. “Libra—is related to and transmits the potencies of the Pleiades.” (EA 349) Libra is also related to the Dragon and the Dragon to the Pleiades. “The adepts who choose this Path are called esoterically the ‘beneficent dragons,’ and the energy with which they work and the stream of living force upon which they are found emanates from the constellation of the Dragon, working through the zodiacal sign Libra.” (TCF 1245) D.K. speaks of the  “…buddhic force, which is transmitted via the Seven Sisters or the Pleiades from a constellation called the Dragon…” (TCF 1162) Libra is related to one of the stars in the Great Bear. (A triangle?—Mizar-Libra-Sun?) (R&I 404)

  2.   Cosmically related to Sirius. “The triangle of Pisces-Uranus-Hierarchy is becoming magnetically attractive to the triangle of Humanity.” (EA 438) “And then the heavens within the ring-pass-not responded to the light from Sirius which, passing through the sea of Pisces, lifted the fishes into the heavenly sphere (Uranus) and thus a lesser triple light appeared, the radiant sun of suns, the watery light of Pisces, the heavenly light of Uranus.” (EA 432, also 427-428)
A connection between the Dragon, the Pleiades and Pisces may well exist, in relation to the saving,  self-abnegating Path of Earth Service. (cf. TCF 904, 1162)

3.   Three Constellations Connected with Libra: a) The Southern Cross; b) Lupus—the Wolf; c) Corona—the Crown (LOH 137-138)

  3.   Three Constellations Connected with Pisces: a) The Band—(connecting the two Fishes; b) Andromeda—the Chained Woman; c) Cepheus—the King (LOH 200)

Subtle Relationships Between Rays, Zodiacal and Planetary Energies

Subtle Relationships Between Rays,
Zodiacal and Planetary Energies

Libra
In Comparison With
Pisces
1.   Libra transmits the third ray, constellationally.

1.   Pisces, associated with “water” and with the “ocean” has an indirect connection with the material third ray through “matter.” Pisces is the “fish swimming in the waters of matter and finding there its sustenance.” (EA 287) ‘As we well know, water stands for matter,…” (TCF 1005)  “Neptune is as you know, the God of the waters, and the term ‘water’ covers many angles of the esoteric wisdom, such as: The whole concept of matter—universal and itemised.”.. (EA 275) The Piscean is to become “the fish who swims free in the ocean of matter.” (EA 62)  Pisces is also the twelfth sign on the reversed wheel, numbering normally and also by polarities (Aries-Libra, Taurus-Scorpio, etc.), and hence, resonant to the third ray. Neptune rules Pisces in a special way (EA 171), and the Neptunian trident connects it to the third ray. “Water” and “matter” are equivalent and matter is ruled by the third ray. Pluto, through it lunar, material, sub-conscious associations, and its associations with the “past”,  shows its relation to the third ray.

2.   Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac on both the reversed and ordinary wheels and, hence, has numerical affinity with the seventh ray.

  2.   Jupiter, the exoteric ruler of Pisces, rules “ritualistic worship” and,  thus, transmits the seventh ray. (cf. EA 648, 660)

3.   Libra is the sixth sign on the clockwise wheel, IF one begins counting with Pisces (which, at one point, the Tibetan does). This mode of counting relates Libra to the sixth ray.

  3.   Pisces transmits the sixth ray constellationally. Enthusiastic Jupiter has sixth ray associations. Neptune (a special ruler of Pisces) transmits the sixth ray. Pluto (esoteric and hierarchical ruler) has sixth ray associations through its relation to the solar plexus. (EA 78)

4.   Libra is the second sign of the zodiac on the reversed wheel IF one counts in polarities (Aries-Libra, Scorpio-Taurus, Gemini-etc.). This mode of counting relates Libra to the second ray.

  4.   Pisces transmits the second ray, constellationally. Jupiter, the exoteric ruler of Pisces, transmits the second ray. Neptune, as special, spiritual ruler of Pisces for “humanity as a whole(EA 129), transmits the second ray monadically. Venus, “pure love-wisdom” (exalted in Pisces), transmits the second ray. (EA 281)

5.   Libra, because of its oscillatory nature, may well have some subtle fourth ray associations—destined to emerge more in other world periods. Venus, too, seems to have the higher more harmonious part of the fourth ray associated with it. But there are no direct fourth ray connections linking these two constellations.

  5.   Only indirect fourth ray connections relate Pisces to the fourth ray. Venus, the planet exalted in Pisces, can be understood as associated with the harmony and beauty aspects of the fourth ray (but not with the factors within this ray which lead to conflict). Neptune, the special spiritual ruler of Pisces (for “humanity as a whole”) has strong relations to buddhi/intuition, and to the fourth plane, the buddhic plane

6.   Venus transmits the fifth ray.

  6.   Venus (exalted) transmits the fifth ray. Pluto, for whom Mars is the “Alter Ego” (EA 507) is connected with scientific research, and Mars rules science—on the fifth ray.

7.   Venus, exoteric ruler of Libra, is closely associated with the sixth ray (TCF 595), and probably transmits this ray monadically.

  7.   See #3 above.

8.   Venus “pure love wisdom” can be considered as transmitting the second ray.

  8.   See #4 above.

9.   Uranus, ruling Libra esoterically, transmits the seventh ray.

  9.   See #2 above.

10.   Uranus transmits the first ray “esoterically”—i.e., monadically. “Uranus is the home of ‘fire electric’.” (TCF 1154)

  10.   Pluto is the esoteric and hierarchical ruler of Pisces, and transmits the first ray.

10.   Uranus expresses the third ray. (EA 138, 200)

  10.   See #1 above.

11.   Saturn, the hierarchical and exalted ruler of Libra, expresses the third ray monadically, and probably through its soul (thought this would mean that Monad and soul expressed the same ray.

  11.   See #1 above.

12.   Saturn transmits the first ray.

  12.   See #10 above.

13.   Saturn has seventh ray associations, through its rulership of the systemic physical and cosmic physical planes.

Similarities and Points of Cooperation Between the Influences

 Similarities and Points of Cooperation
Between the Zodiacal Influences

A.   Both Libra and Pisces have their passive side and can be considered signs of peace. Indeed, Venus the planet of peace is the orthodox ruler of Libra and the exalted ruler of Pisces.

Peace for Libra is the proportional representation of all contributing parties, a state of harmony and expression.  Peace for Pisces is the final synthesis preceding dissolution or praylaya.

Although Pisces is much associated with the heart center and represents the Christ decanate within the zodiac, the great decanate, it is also associated with mulapakriti and matter, the waters of space, the third aspect of Divinity. As its mantram, Go forth into matter, indicates.

Libra too is associated with the previous solar system and the matter aspect. If one looks at the polarity of Aries-Libra, one sees that Aries rules the crown center and Libra, its polar opposite can be affixed to the base of the spine. That spinal center being much associated both with Uranus and Saturn, the esoteric and hierarchical rulers of Libra.

B.   Both of these signs Libra and Pisces, being much influenced by Venus, are signs of romanticism, aesthetics and imagination and are found to be expressive in the arts. Though perhaps librans with their strong mental balance are found additionally more often in the sciences.

C.   From a certain perspective Libra and Pisces are both signs of love. It is easy to see with Pisces because of its second and sixth Ray rulership and its association with the Christ. But we must remember that the number two is associated with Libra too representing consciousness and the love aspect. Also if Aries is the first sign, Libra is from a certain point of view, the second.

And interesting revelations appear if Aries is numbered one, Libra two, Taurus three, Scorpio four, Gemini five, Sagittarius six and so forth. Qualities of these signs which might not otherwise appear are revealed. From another perspective, Aries-Libra could be called one, Taurus-Scorpio two, Gemini-Sagittarius three, Cancer-Capricorn four, Leo-Aquarius five and Virgo-Pisces six. And important relationships are thereby revealed as well.

In many respects it could be said that Venus is the bringer of peace to the earth and ends the condition of war so prevalent upon this planet of releasing pain and purifying sorrow.

Both Libra and Pisces are peace signs. Venus and Saturn in Libra bringing peace, for peace is a condition of perfect balance and Saturn acts as the fulcrum and the ruler of the golden age of perfect equilibrium. Pisces represents the peace of final consummation and the exalted Venus indicates this condition.

As well, the Jupiter orthodox rulership of Pisces indicates the benevolence and good will which directly contributes to peace.

Again, curiously, both Pisces and Libra appear with (inaudible)...those who through many incarnational processes have been put in position where war must be waged in order to achieve peace.

D.   From a somewhat negative point of view, Libra and Pisces are signs of self indulgence and the avoidance of responsibility because they are both very sensorily and sensually, sensuously oriented.

The factor of sensation is very much associated with Libra where the world of the not self is experienced in all its exquisiteness. Pisces, too, is a sign of extraordinary impressionability and especially in the early days, this impressionability stands in relation to the not self. Hence, mediumship.

Both of these signs, therefore, contribute to an important kind of vulnerability and the victimization of the Spirit by the not self. Now, in later days, since both signs are associated with peace, they are naturally both associated with Shamballa.

We can consider Shamballa as the city of peace and its association with Libra is easily seen. But Shamballa is also the home of the greatest of our world saviors, Sanat Kumara, who is pledged to stand at his post until the last weary pilgrim finds his way home.

And the ruler of Pisces, Pluto esoterically and hierarchically, has much to do with the shamballic center as a number of the important triangles indicate.

Shamballa is also the center of Divine Will to which the Pisces individual subjects himself. This is seen in Christ's statement, "Not my will but thine be done." And it is of course the Spiritual Will emanating from Shamballa which brings release to the initiate.

So both in the realms of the not self and the realms of the self or the realms of being, Libra and Pisces are active.

E.      They have, as well, a hierarchical connection for the heavenly marriage of Libra is the union of Hierarchy and Humanity or the union of soul and personality.

And Pisces through its association with saviorship by means of the heart is naturally connected with the saving Hierarchy.

As a matter of fact, there is a triangle Sirius-Pisces-Uranus which leads into Hierarchy which establishes this fact.

Also, Pisces is clearly connected with buddhi which is the intuitive, loving energy distributed through Hierarchy. So there is a refining, redeeming energy connected with both Libra and Pisces and directly related to Hierarchy.

Perhaps I said it earlier, but both are signs of keen aestheticism and refinement. The Neptune-Venus connection in Pisces confers this, and the classical Venus-Saturn connection in Libra establishes it. The sense of color and contrast is sharp in both signs and it must be said that both signs are united in their appreciation of beauty.

F.      Again, the spirit of altruism is found in connection with both. Libra always has innately the consideration of the other, the rights of the other. And with Pisces the self becomes the other through identification. In a sense, we know that the Sun falls in Libra and is thus weakened, the principle of egotism is therefore weakened. But the Sun is not strong in Pisces in its more egotistic meanings for Pisces is the great dissolver of egoism. Hence, the altruism of these two signs. It must also be said most emphatically that these are two powerful karmic signs. Each must therefore be associated with Sirius. Surely a triangle between Sirius, Libra and Saturn could be imagined since Sirius is the source of what we call karma in our solar system and Libra confers the great law of equilibrium related to karma. The solar angels so associated with each human being are the administrators of individual karma and are in a sense, Sirian beings and therefore agents of the lords of karma. So for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction is the Sirian theme.

G.   Moving to  Pisces in relation to karma, we find the release from karma occurring in this sign. Indeed Pisces is one of the great reaping signs, a sign of finality and consummation where all accounts must at last be squared.

Interestingly, the reaper is Saturn, maximally powerful in Libra. But the final reaping of that which is sown in Aries does occur in Pisces. And this karmic reaping for good or for ill must definitely precede movement into the cycle inaugurated in Aries.

So the karmic connection between Libra and Pisces is profound. Of course karma is an agent of redemption and both of these signs are refining and redeeming signs. So beauty, karma, good will, peace, Shamballa, Hierarchy, all of these are themes which unite the two signs Libra and Pisces.

H.   One more important relationship sees cardinal Libra as the inaugurator of the hemi-cycle of group experience and Pisces as the sign of consummation of perfected group consciousness, subservient to the Divine Will.

Interestingly, the Divine Will is powerful in both of these signs. And right human relations is said to be the Will of Shamballa at this time. The Will of Shamballa is executed with full compassion by the time Pisces is reached.
