Michael Robbins Notes – Discipleship in the New Age Volume I Section I

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 45:   Michael concludes his discussion of Part IX, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 99-102. DK urges his disciples to recover the fervor of their earlier spiritual aspiration and self-discipline by increasing the radiance of their light in the world through love and meditation.  He tells them to seek to love more than you have ever believed was possible, so that others—frozen and chilled by life circumstance and the present horror of human existence—may turn to them for warmth and comfort. The Hierarchy is seeking dependable points of living energy to pour out the love, the strength and the light which the world needs. Will you, he asks, intensify your inner life and achieve the power which will enable you to live simultaneously as an efficient human being and a living, loving soul?  Establishing the continuity of this dual process among disciples is the main need at this time, and it will lead to fusion, personality coordination and a greatly increased efficiency. To those who are standing in the blaze of pain (and their numbers are Legion), of agony, anxiety and distress—seeing it on every hand and attempting to stand steady in the midst of it all—DK says: That which appears is not always that which truly is; that which rends and disrupts the personality life is frequently the agent of release, if rightly apprehended; that which will emerge when the Forces of Light have penetrated the world darkness will demonstrate the nature of the undying human spirit. We know that this is the hour of humanity’s greatest opportunity and that if men can pass triumphantly through this and (by the strength of their own souls) surmount this very present evil, then the evolution of humanity will be hastened beyond all that was believed possible. It will constitute a release, self-achieved and self-initiated. This means as much in the life of mankind as it means in the life of the individual disciple. That chance and that opportunity must not be taken from man; the gained spiritual and eternal values are of far greater importance than his temporary agony. The sensitivity of Those connected with the Hierarchy to the unhappy condition of humanity makes Their task of standing-by one of supreme spiritual agony. They understand the depths of the reaction of humanity; they comprehend and understand, for They are one with all men. They need the staunch support of all Their disciples, the steadfast love, the loyal attitude, the unquestioning response to human need which will enable Them to carry more easily the heavy burden which human karma has laid upon Them and which They carry voluntarily. The need of humanity for love and light, the need of the Hierarchy for channels and for those who will work under direction upon the earth can call forth all that you have to give and can evoke your soul (the only true reward that the disciple seeks) in power and love. This will happen to disciples who will forget the little self and let their knowledge be transmuted into wisdom and the eye of vision control their living processes, that is the deep desire Master DK has for all of his disciples.  This program was recorded on 13 Sep 2021.   Approximately 2hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 44:   Michael continues his discussion of Part IX, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 98-99.   DK tells his disciples that he has watched over them, noted their progress and  delays, as they succeeded and failed; he did so by noting the pulsation of their light as they are within his group aura, within his Ashram. When the fluctuations of contact are ended and the pupil is stabilized and becomes a “steadily approaching point of energy,” then he becomes an accepted disciple. Some in the group, he tells them, are stabilizing while some are retreating (he watches with interest the waxing and the waning of their light).  The mobilization of every disciple is demanded at this time; it involves the focusing of the disciple’s energies, his time and his resources on behalf of humanity.  It requires a new dedication to service, a consecration of the thought-life and a forgetfulness of self (ruling out all moods and feelings, all personality desires, resentments, grievances and all pettiness in your relationships). On the physical plane, it means the conditioning of all active, outer living so that the whole life becomes focused, active service. DK urges his disciples to make a new beginning—not for your own sake, but for helping a needy world.  There is much pressure on the Hierarchy and Masters such as DK to prevent a complete collapse of the structure of human civilization as it exists at this time. The sound foundations of part of the structure must be saved; all else may have to go. One of the first lessons disciples in training for initiation have to master is that difficult dual attitude which permits right personality activity and yet at the same time permits nothing personal to interfere with the subjective spiritual life, with service and with the training, given in preparation for initiation.  This program was recorded on 11 Sep 2021.   Approximately 1.5hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 43:   Michael continues his discussion of Part IX, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 96-98.   DK tells his group that a disciple is known by his influence on his environment, and an initiate by the wide scope of his world service. He askes the group why some are not distinguished by such service and are of relatively small importance in world affairs.  He says this could be the result of several things (a disciple may be called to work off karmic relationships, to fulfill certain obligations of ancient origin, sometimes a disciple may be doing effective service on the inner planes and on a large scale and yet there may be no evidence of this on the physical plane, others may be learning certain techniques of psychological relationships and of energy distribution).  One life is but a short moment in the long cycle of the soul; the true disciple will never fall back on the reasons given above as alibis for lack of effort.  In connection with his group of disciples and the experiment DK was undertaking, he tells his disciples they need to arrive at a point in group experience where they are no longer preoccupied with their own development.  They all need to learn to decentralize so the work to be done becomes the factor of main importance. When this is the case, then the intense self-interest with some aspect of the personality expression, some weakness of character, some dear objective, or some physical condition will cease. Cultivating “divine indifference”, he tells his disciples, is of great assistance in forgetting the little self that shuts out the higher self.  He also points out that there come periods in the life of the disciple when there appears to be no contact with the Master and seems as if the relationship had been temporarily severed, but where disciples are concerned, any such severance is not possible (occultly, it cannot happen and the Master’s love for the disciple makes it again impossible). There is only one condition which can result in severance and that is deliberate and conscious effort by the disciple, carried over a very long period of time, to bring it about.  There may be a temporary suspension of communication and this may last throughout one life; however, it is not long from the angle of the soul; it is but a flash of small moment and significance in the long career of the soul.  This program was recorded on 10 Sep 2021.   Approximately 1.15hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 42:   Michael continues his discussion of Part IX, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 95-96.  DK tells his disciples that the first three initiations have to be taken when in a physical body and upon the physical plane (demonstrating initiate consciousness through both mind and brain). He also points out there is a very deep necessity for humility and its constantly recurring expression (an adjusted sense of right proportion leading to a balanced point of view as to the person, his responsibilities and his life work). This, when present, enables him to view himself  and his new opportunities with dispassion. Disciples need to walk humbly in the spiritual life which involves a correct recognition of place, status, and opportunity (avoiding being too humble, belittling their true power, or having either an inferiority complex or inflated assessment). Disciples need to accept themselves as they are, accept discipleship, and find themselves so busy in true service that they have no time for ceaseless comparisons with others.  True humility is based on fact, on vision and on time pressures.  DK lets his disciples know that his experiment has its dangers. While disciples in a Master’s Ashram upon the inner planes know somewhat the status of their co-disciples, they do not always carry this knowledge through into the brain consciousness; this is a protective factor because they could not be trusted to handle the knowledge correctly upon the physical plane. They might be super-critical of a fellow disciple who was, temporarily, not living up to his initiation objective; they might be subtly jealous or unduly self-depreciative; they might treat the disciple who is ahead of them upon the Path of Initiation as someone superior and set apart and thereby complicate his problem and his effort. The pitfalls are many and disciples must attend to their own life and your own business, without speculating on the status of the other disciples in the group. This program was recorded on 9 Sep 2021.   Approximately 1.25hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 41:   Michael continues his discussion of Part IX, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 93-95. DK tells his disciples that the Teacher in the East would teach His disciple by giving a hint. The ancient writings of India show these hints fall into two categories: hints about personal character in relation for preparation for initiation and hints about the Oneness of Deity and man’s relation to an ascertained unity.  Later teaching hints were added about the creative process when God made the worlds and teachings about energy and the development of the centers.  These four lines of teachings were preparatory, and the training on initiation was deeply hidden. What DK is seeking to do is carry the teaching another stage outward and make exoteric what the Master taught His disciple in the ancient days.  All true esoteric teaching begins with the universal and ends with the particular; this must always be born in mind as DK attempts to put into modern language the unwritten rules.  Much of what was given out, like that of HPB, has been truth, including information about initiation.  But there is also much given out that has been fanciful and grievously distorted. A Master’s problem is to teach his disciples the stabilization of the relation between soul and body so that, at will, contact can be established between them; the astral body provides no hindrance, and through that soul contact a facile relation to the Hierarchy (its purposes and resources) can be made. Another point the Master teaches his disciples is the nature of energy and its wise use through an integrated personality.  DK tells his disciples that while many have taken the first initiation (that of the birth at Bethlehem), that many, many lives can elapse between the first initiation and the second with long interludes of silent and almost unapparent growth. They are not unique or far ahead of the senior world aspirants. And it is not his intention to tell them who is being prepared for what particular initiation; that, he tells them, is a matter for each of them to discover for themselves.  This program was recorded on 4 Sep 2021.   Approximately 1.25hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 40:   Michael continues his discussion of Part IX, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 91-93.  DK tells his disciples that initiation might be defined as the moment of crisis where the consciousness hovers on a revelation. The demands of the soul and the suggestions of the Master are in conflict with the demands of the personality, creating a tremendous pull between the pairs of opposites and the disciple at the midway point.  Will he respond to the higher pull and pass on to new and higher areas of spiritual experience? Or will he fall back into the glamour of time and space and into the thralldom of the personal life?  Will he stand in a static quiescent condition in which neither the higher trend nor the lower pull will affect him?  He tries to enhance the desire of the soul through directed thought; the personality can also do nothing, for at this point both the physical body and the astral vehicle are simply automatons, waiting responsively for the decision of the disciple, functioning in his mental body. Once he decides, the die is cast; he either moves forward towards the light, or he drops back temporarily into the life condition of the lower man.  Either way, he awakens to a wider grasp of reality and a deeper understanding of his part in the Plan, or the veils close over his head and the vision fades. Should he go forward, the revelation of possibilities becomes a factual experience, resulting in the evocation of new capacities and the recognition of new modes and fields of service. New hierarchical contacts are now possible to him; new responsibility is laid upon his shoulders and new fields of potency become available for his use in world service. This program was recorded on 2 Sep 2021.   Approximately 1.3hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 39:   Michael begins his discussion of Part IX, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 89-91.   DK tells his disciples that the first stage to master in meditation is the power to visualize; in it lies the ability to use the creative powers of the imagination, plus mental energy, as a measure to further the ends of the Hierarchy and to carry out the Divine Plan. Visualization is the initial step in the demonstration of the occult law that “energy follows thought.”  The power to visualize is the form-building aspect of the creative imagination (gathering energy, focusing the energy under the power of intention, and dispatching the focused energy via a pictorial process in the desired direction).  This process of energy direction can become a spiritual habit if disciples would begin to do it slowly and gradually.  The disciple learns to do this within himself and later to direct the energy (some chosen and particular kind, according to the demand of the occasion) to that which lies without himself. This constitutes one of the major healing techniques of the future.  The power to visualize correctly is one mode of ascertaining truth or falsity; it is literally the building of a bridge between the emotional or astral plane and the mental level (it is a personality correspondence to the building of the Antahkarana). The astral plane, the second aspect of the personality, is the correspondence to the form-building aspect of the Trinity, the second aspect. The creative imagination “pictures a form” through the ability to visualize and the thought energy of the mind gives life and direction to this form. It embodies purpose, establishing a rapport between the mind and the astral vehicle and it becomes a triple line of energy when the soul of the disciple is using this creative process in some planned and definitely constructive manner.  Through this process the Masters work and hierarchical purpose takes shape, so it is essential that disciples begin with deliberation and slowly work in this manner use the above information constructively and creatively.  This program was recorded on 1 Sep 2021.   Approximately 1.25hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 38:   Michael concludes his discussion of Part VIII, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 88-89.   DK reminds his group that the life of a disciple is a life of risks and of dangers, entered into willingly in the cause of spiritual unfoldment and the service of humanity. He cautions them to watch their emotional life and reactions with increased care and to watch out for any inkling of glamour (emotionalism and glamor are not necessarily indications of failure, unless the disciple succumbs to old rhythms). The success of the meditation work assigned can evoke the “divine indifference” which permits the emotion or the glamour to die of attrition if deprived of attention. It is particularly difficult to triumph over emotion because of the intense emotional condition of the entire human family and the widespread fear and terror for which the energy of the Black Lodge of Adepts is responsible. This complicates the problem of all disciples.  So DK begs his group to proceed with courage, joy, understanding, extreme caution and—at the same time—with speed.  All true disciples stand by their group brothers in love and understanding. The protective love of their Masters is also there, but in the last analysis, the battle is theirs.  This program was recorded on 30 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1.25hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 37:   Michael continues his discussion of Part VIII, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 86-88.   DK tells his group that the initiate stands ready for the instant recognition of what is new, for treading the new step in the unfoldment of the pioneering human consciousness (revelation—steadily and constantly presented of the new and superseding concepts).  He is ready for the reception of the power from on high which breaks and destroys that which has become crystallized and is now old and useless regarding practical human affairs.  Along with individual and group meditations, disciples need to cultivate a life of spiritual reflection (objective and subjective), of focusing the light of the soul in the brain, and of living in soul service (the expression upon the physical plane of soul attitudes and activities that are considered life with a purpose).  Disciples need to also cultivate formal meditation, a conscious withdrawal that will eventually bring about telepathic interplay between the disciples in a group, the Master and the larger Ashram.  The meditation involves the linking up of heart and head, of the mystic and the occult approach, and also of feeling and knowledge.  The heart center in the head (thousand-petaled lotus), when adequately radiatory and magnetic, relates disciples to each other and to all the world. It also produces telepathic interplay which is constructively useful to the spiritual Hierarchy.  Another task of all disciples is the evocation of the will aspect of the soul; the will is usually quiescent in its higher aspects until a man treads the Path of Discipleship. DK points out that In the New Age the keynote of the aspirant’s progress will be love of humanity; this will indicate the awakening of the heart center. In the past and up until the last few years, the keynote has been service because (if selflessly rendered) it embodied a technique which automatically brought the heart center into activity. It is love of humanity which is the major lack in the character of many disciples today. They love those with whom they may be associated, or they love the work connected with the group endeavor, or they love their own nation; they may also love an ideal or theoretical assumption, but they do not really love humanity as a whole. There are limits to their capacity to love and it is the transcending of those limits which constitutes their main problem at this time; they have to learn that it is humanity which calls for their allegiance, their loyalty and service.  This program was recorded on 29 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1.5hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 36:   Michael continues his discussion of Part VIII, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 84-86.   DK tells his disciples that a disciple is trained in important matters and not in his relation to a Master.  The important matters to the disciple are the present status and problems of humanity, the subject of initiation and the soul (identification of the soul, the group soul, the soul of humanity as a whole, and the soul in all forms), and the subject of service (the spontaneous and easy expression of soul insight brought down to physical plane expression). One of the major undertakings of the accepted is to transform himself from a well-intentioned idealist into a man of action on behalf of humanity.  When groups can think unanimously along these lines and work in unison, then the first step will have been taken towards group initiation.  This involves the recognition of a united vision for the group, group integration on soul levels (simultaneous rapport of the group members with the soul on its own level, a blended contact of the group personalities upon the three levels of personality expression (mental, astral, and etheric awareness), and the ability of the group to stand united and with no barriers between the group members of any kind (this involves the sacrifice of personality reactions, ideals and plans). One of the great needs of all disciples and aspirants is the detached relinquishing of pet theories as to life, discipleship and the Plan; the preserving an open mind ready for the unexpected presentation and able to achieve a quick reversal of all preconceived ideals. DK tells his disciples this is particularly hard for Ray 6 types and disciples of the world with their nicely formulated ideals and their neatly expressed idealistic concepts who are often glamored by the future beauty because they are oblivious of the present opportunity. This program was recorded on 26 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1.5hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 35:   Michael continues his discussion of Part VIII, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 82-84.   DK tells his disciples that the work he has outlined reference group attitudes and relationships and true impersonality will take many years and will be carried out in and out of incarnation.  With the steady practice of impersonality and indifference, self-forgetfulness and decentralization away from the personality, a disciple begins to live more fully as a soul and approximate the seemingly impossible goal DK advocates for his disciples.  There are four things, he tells his disciples, which hold back a group of disciples from satisfactory work Lack of vision, personal glamor, preoccupation with individual problems, and slow reaction to the teachings and presented opportunity.  The hallmark of the pledged disciple and a quality which should increasingly dominate his life is the capacity to identify himself with the part or with the whole; this attitude involves a comprehensive sweep of love that leads to inclusiveness and to pledging the life service to the greatest number and to the most in need. An outstanding fault of disciples, DK tells them, is the expression of the wrong kind of indifference, leading to an almost immovable preoccupation with their personal ideas and undertakings; this hampers the group integration and block the work.  Disciples need to apply the teaching given to the idea of promoting and increasing their world service.  DK also advises his disciples that an accepted disciple is not really one who has been accepted by a Master for training.  Rather, an accepted disciple is one who has accepted the fact of the Hierarchy, that all souls are one and has pledged himself to seek expression as a soul, has accepted the occult technique of service to humanity, and has accepted the Plan and seeks to facilitate its manifestation.  A disciple is trained in important matters and not in his relation to a Master.  This program was recorded on 25 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1.25hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 34:   Michael continues his discussion of Part VIII, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 80-81.   DK outlines his objectives for his disciples (his main present objective is bringing about group integration; future objective of his ashramic groups include establishing telepathic rapport with amongst the group members; the general group objective is shifting the consciousness of all integrated human beings in large numbers on to the etheric levels of consciousness and activity; and the individual objective he has is the preparation of the life and consciousness of the group regarding group initiation. Group initiation is dependent upon the members in the group fitting themselves for initiation and at the same time learning to subordinate their spiritual ambition and desires to the group pace (so it involves a dual attitude of adapting oneself to the needed integration and also the development of spiritual responsiveness to impressions from the soul and the spiritual Hierarchy). It also involves judgment and wisdom in the establishment of right inter-relations with the group of disciples so that the group may move on together (right integration on the three personality levels and also on soul levels, plus right group responsiveness to the higher psychic gifts.  This process takes many years and can go forward in incarnation or out of incarnation (the consciousness remains the same in both cases, but development can be carried on with greater ease when out of incarnation, where there is no limited brain consciousness). Attainment of these objectives will involve clear vision and a keen and intelligent understanding, as well as the steady, conscious intensification of group love and group interplay (leading disciples to purpose and planned spiritual objectives). This program was recorded on 23 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1. 5hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 33:   Michael continues his discussion of Part VIII, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 77-79.   DK tells his disciples about an incident from several lives ago, and how his love for his Master was something he considered a strength, but his Master told him it was actually a weakness.  He symbolically crashed to earth through the weight of this weakness because in reality it was really pride and satisfaction as an aspirant and disciple. He denied this and was upset his Master so misunderstood him.  But through a life of failure and egotism (serving himself, not humanity), he finally learned that he lost much time from the standpoint of useful service. He told his disciples this story so they could avoid the same mistakes he made.  He asks them to lose no time in undue self-analysis, self-depreciation, or self defense; instead he urged them to go forward with discrimination about their own unfoldment, and with love and understanding where their group is concerned. He tells them his real name to end their speculation, and also so they recognize that they are accepted disciples with the responsibility and opportunity that implies.   Another reason was to test their ability to keep silent until it is no longer necessary to do so (silence is one of the prime prerequisites for initiation and something which every disciple must learn, so the way the disciples handle this knowledge tells the Master much about their ability to be of use). He reminds them that the fact he is a Master changes nothing, he is still the same Instructor who has taught them for many years. He urges them to go forward together along the path of service and together to enter into the Light and tread the way to world peace (not to personal illumination, something that is is inevitable, but incidental).  He tells his disciples that he is dealing with an untested group, a critical group, and a group subject to pronounced glamors; but with all that, he can trust their devotion to humanity, willingness to learn and determination to proceed along the path of service at any cost. This program was recorded on 22 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1.25hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 32:   Michael continues his discussion of Part VIII, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 75-77. DK tells his disciples that a group is no more powerful than its weakest link and a group suffers esoterically and its power is curtailed when one member fails to measure up to opportunity or recedes into the glamors of the personality (as happened with his group). He stresses that the important thing is the group integration, group influence and understanding, and group love, plus the strength which each brings to the whole.  The strength or weakness of this group of disciples lies in the fact that the individuals who compose it are not only egoically linked, but there is also a strong personality tie (with all the weaknesses which that may entail) and a deep affection between each member (even if they haven’t met each other). This condition of unconscious friendship is because of many lives of close association in the work as well as past personality relations and family ties; the weakness exists because this situation is apt to make the group personal in its reactions. This group of disciples is intrinsically an entity on all the three levels of the three worlds—physical, emotional and mental—and there is a soul tie as well.  The second point DK makes is that in the stress and strain of the group work. Each needs to bear in mind that they are in this particular group of disciples for preparatory training for initiation, part of an experiment in group initiation (in future ages, men and women will pass through the Portal of Initiation together).  This means group progress can either be furthered or held back by the effort of the individual group members.  The third thing DK tells his disciples is that whatever their particular status on the Path at this time, he is there to help the group, as he has in the past. He speaks the truth as I see it from his vantage point, seeking to throw light on their weaknesses. As they are not yet initiates, they have faults, limitations, points of darkness, inertia as well as self-satisfaction. Self-defense is strong in some and this produces an unwillingness to recognize faults. The tendency to self-depreciation is strong in others and it produces that over-emphasis of the personality and that constant thought about the personality which is also detrimental to real progress. He warns his disciples to watch for the these conditions and to assume an attitude of willingness to listen and admit the possibility of failure in the one case and of self-forgetfulness in the other. See things as they are, he pleads; do this not because it is I who am suggesting it, but because you are willing to face up to facts and are ready for unexpected discoveries about yourselves. One of the first lessons which a disciple needs to learn is that where he thinks he is strongest and where he finds the most satisfaction is very frequently the point of greatest danger and of weakness. Astral conditions are often reversed, causing glamor that can overcome a disciple.  This program was recorded on 20 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1.7hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 31:   Michael begins his discussion of Part VIII, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 74-75.   DK tells his disciples that the Hierarchy was deeply concerned over world happenings and that after the war the work must go forward at any.  The New Group of World Servers must preserve its integrity and aid the efforts of the Hierarchy, working for unity (both subjectively and eventually objectively).  Good must ultimately triumph, but the Hierarchy does not know what the immediate future holds for humanity because men determine their own destiny and the Law of Cause and Effect cannot be offset. The new groups of disciples are Seed Groups, in the growing stages, an important stage, according to the healthiness of the seed and its ability to cast strong roots downwards and to penetrate slowly and steadily upwards towards the light. DK emphasizes that the New Age is upon us and we are witnessing the birth pangs of the new culture and the new civilization. The old and undesirable must go, especially that of hatred and the spirit of separateness.  The main objective of the work of these groups is still group integration and the setting up of an inter-communication between the group members necessary for telepathic communication that will finally establish that golden network of light which will serve to create a powerful focal point for the spiritual revitalization of the etheric body of humanity. This focal point will, in its turn, aid in the revitalizing of the etheric body of the planet with new power and with fresh impulse.  This program was recorded on 18 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1.25hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 30:   Michael concluded his discussion of Part VII, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 68-73.   This program was recorded on 17 Aug 2021. DK tells his group that the energy used in telepathic work is the “chitta” or mind-stuff that is the very substance of manifestation itself.  The planetary Logos, however, works with the higher correspondence of this mind-stuff and the forces of the mental plane are the reflection (or  the densification) of this higher mental substance. This mind-stuff is constantly in motion, producing the thoughtform-making activity of the mental world set in motion by minds (working individually or in group formation). In true telepathic work the currents of this mind-stuff are set in motion between certain points by the will and the carefully expressed and formulated idea in the mind of the thinker. Other groups are consciously working with energy that can dispel glamour and illusion (working with the highest level of the astral plane, as that is susceptible to response of the intuition or buddhi; it is the energy of wisdom.  Disciples working in these groups have to learn to use this energy wisely, to think with wisdom and to realize that wisdom itself is a force that eventually drives the human family to the Masters of the Wisdom.  Masters today are working primarily upon the mental plane, dealing with ideas and with their impression upon the minds of Their disciples and advanced humanity.  It is the problem of humanity itself, as a whole, to work in the world glamour; it is the responsibility of the aspirants of the world to guide humanity out of glamour (to bring it out of the great illusion into the light). Men must learn to understand it and eventually—aided by the senior disciples of the world, trained by the Masters of the Wisdom—to transmute and dispel it.  Other groups have the task of working with prana or life energy—the energy of vitality. The right use of the pranic energies will dissipate disease and cure the pains of the human physical vehicle. Two things are essential for this, understanding of the energy of the soul (like the energy of the universal mind and the energy of buddhi, or the intuition) has to be set in action upon the physical plane by the one to be healed and by the healer; both have to work in cooperation. And there must be right understanding of the disease and its cause, plus the karmic status of the patient and the condition of his centers, his alignment and his point in evolution.  Other groups are working with the bridging work carried forward between the personality and the Monad (the triple lower man and the Spiritual Triad) and also between the lower mind, the soul and the higher mind—linking that relatively lower triplicity with the unity, the Spiritual Triad.  This group of workers work with the energy of the Light of the Soul, both as individuals and also as a group of disciples using this great pathway of light between the personality and the Spiritual Triad (atma-buddhi-manas or spiritual will, intuitive understanding and the higher mind). And DK reminds his disciples that It is necessary here for them to remember that though these groups are intended to be Seed groups of the New Age, two factors should be remembered:  that they constitute a unique experiment in understanding the forces that are slowly emerging into prominence in a world rapidly adjusting itself to the new rhythms; and these groups of disciples are all passing through the formative stage and change and adjustment is going on, their  pattern is still fluid.  Later, when adjustments are made and groups of disciples learn to work together without criticism or misunderstanding, then they can pass on to organized group work. There will come a time when each group of disciples is integrated and their work becomes practical instead of theoretical; then the group usefulness will arrive. If the group fails to integrate and to take advantage of group opportunity and their call to service, then certain disciples will have to drop out and the groups reorganized.  Those disciples who have not measured up to the requirements which their souls have set for them will be absorbed into other groups.  These teachings on group work are intended for groups later on, when conscious use of it can be made and the knowledge given can be turned to practical purpose in world service.  Approximately 3.3hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 29:   Michael continues his discussion of Part VII, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 65-68.   DK told his group that they can keep their minds free of their own desires and interpretations by achieving positive negativity on the 2 lower aspects of their personality (astral body and brain) so the mind is free for soul contact (illumination and working knowledge of the Plan); thought formulation is clear and can be positively directed, and work on mental levels with the united group cab be productive.  The controlling factor in this work is harmlessness in thought and word, and a refusal to think unkindly or with criticism.  DK urged his group to purge all critical and unkind thoughts so that they can achieve an attitude of divine indifference to the ephemeral and fleeting personalities and to the chaos seen everywhere and endeavor to tune in on the attitude of the Hierarchy.   For group purposes (and for simplicity), DK outlines three important stages:  the stage of pondering over the idea which is to be impressed upon the mind of some individual; when the thoughtform is built in the mind, then follows a period where it slowly becomes the living embodiment of the desired idea (vibrant, active and ready for service); and when this stage is reached, the group can proceed with the stage of direction (sending it out on the wings of love, impelled by the wise desire to serve). The externalized groups of disciples are all intended to be expressions of a type of group relation which will be better known and understood when the world has entered into the next cycle and era of peace; these groups are a tentative endeavor to externalize certain phases of hierarchical work in the world.  This program was recorded on 17 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1.15hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 28:   Michael begins his discussion of Part VII, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 63-65.   DK explains the need for telepathic sensitivity, and how essential it is to the inter-relation on the mental plane.  This telepathic unfoldment leads to greater sensitivity to others, as well as the new science of inter-communication that the New Age will see in general use (the radio is the outer physical symbol of this).  A question arises if anyone has the right to work telepathically upon the mind of another person?  DK tells his disciples that they are doing it all the time, consciously or unconsciously, and without skill or purpose.  It is through telepathy that ideas have been disseminated in the world by the process of mentally impressing the mind of some disciple or sensitive person. It then becomes their task to direct the activities of individuals who can bring it out into the consciousness of the world thinkers.  This work must carried out selflessly and with complete freedom from personal prejudice in order for it to be safely accomplished. There is no difference between the work of Hierarchy or the Lords of Form, except in motive and the point from which a disciple works. The Lords of Form work entirely on and from the lower levels of the mental plane and with the energy of knowledge (the love aspect of the soul is inactive and the motives are selfish ones).  Disciples work from the higher mental levels where knowledge and love are used together, producing only those results which are harmoniously and intelligently in line with the Plan.  Disciples are not permitted to call into play the activity the Will aspect of the soul, until they are initiates of the third degree.  There is too much desire (which is embryonic will) in their equipment for them to be trusted as yet with this higher aspect of mental activity. Any telepathic work the disciples are doing the impression of ideas and not imposed direction, seeking impress certain minds with the outlines or suggestions as to the Plan and deal with the concept that separation is a thing of the past and that unity is the goal of the immediate future; that hatred is retro-active and undesirable and that goodwill is the touchstone which will transform the world.  This program was recorded on 15 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1.2hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 27:   Michael concluded his discussion of Part VI, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 60-63. Michael concluded his discussion of Part VI, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 60-63.   Building on his earlier information on developing the facility of rapport, impersonality, and love, DK tells his disciples that requirements to be met and preserved by the group (as a group), are:  group integrity, fusion, and understanding.  This is the order of the work and the sequence of development. All groups working in the outer world in relation to the Ashrams of the Masters will follow certain initial and final stages in their work and are uniform for all the groups, no matter what their specific and individual group work may be. The third stage of the work to be done will be special and particular, differing for each group, and each group needs to attend to their own group business and not speculate as to the nature of the work being done by the other groups.  This program was recorded on 14 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1.25hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 26:   Michael begins his discussion of Part VI, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 55-59.  DK tells his disciples that it is through detachment that the work of discipleship is done; because of this detachment, he realizes that he is simply a worker (one of a great army of hierarchical workers) with no personality inclinations, objectives, or wishes. His life should be nothing but constant work and constant association with other working groups of disciples, giving an expression of group work and group cohesion and of non-separativeness.  A few disciples and intuitives are standing together in a twofold activity: one activity is to sense the steadily unfolding subjective plan with greater accuracy; the other is to speak and teach with clarity and to choose the right words (written and spoken) to express the truth.  This presentation will lead the thinking people of the world to cooperate more fully in the enlightenment of the world. The full measure of what can be done depends upon his inner power of each disciple to live each day as a soul (free from  reactions that stir the astral or emotional body into organized activity); the goal is to achieve an astral body of stillness, of sensitive impressions from the soul and Master, and reflecting the vision with as much purity as may be possible.  While disciples might have physical ailments, they must learn to live with their physical liabilities under adverse conditions and maintain their work at its usual high level.  The emotional problem, however, is harder, and disciples must be able to free themselves from any inner emotional storm in which they might be living. This is part of the integration process and the duality the disciple faces, first with a physical and emotional component active, then with a mental and soul component active, but usually neither is in full control until he is able to reach a point of synthesis and personality-soul integration. The disciple needs to learn to cultivate a “don’t care” attitude (an attitude of the integrated thinking personality of the disciple towards the astral or emotional body).  The whole process is based on a deep-seated belief in the persistence of the immortal Being within the forms of soul and personality. Meditation is essential for establishing this freer inner spiritual interplay.  As disciples, DK reminds his group, they are in preparation for initiation and that implies three things:  increased awareness and sensitivity to experience and to life in all forms; the power to do for others what he has attempted to do for them; and the courage and the strength to know all, to realize all, and to love with patient wisdom and unchanging sincerity. The teaching has always been given that the disciple or the initiate must adapt himself to, and learn from, the conditions in which he finds himself and from the setting and environment with which his physical plane life puts him in daily touch. Under the new system this process of right external adjustments must be paralleled in the New Age by right inner relations, consciously established (involving true knowledge of inner group relation, which is one of the reasons for forming these new groups). Three important things represent the individual responsibility of each disciple:  the facility of rapport with the soul and group brothers in loving attraction; impersonality (divine indifference); and Love (inclusive, non-critical, magnetic comprehension with group integrity and rhythm.  This program was recorded on 13 Aug 2021.  Approximately 2.75hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 25:   Michael concluded his discussion of Part V, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 52-55.   DK tells his disciples that there is an occult process reaching culmination in one of the higher initiations that is called “a bringing forth into the light.” As  accepted disciples are in preparation for initiation, the work DK gives them is to help lay the foundation for  the revelations that will take place in a higher state of consciousness.  He reminds his disciples that these groups have not been formed to train individuals. Rather, they have been formed as seed groups for a definite and specific end. They are organized to provide channels in the world for the distribution of certain types of force that will work out into manifestation in specific ways. Energy has always been manipulated by the Hierarchy and distributed in the world of men, but its effects have only been registered unconsciously by man. Now it is possible for Hierarchy to focus the light and knowledge much more definitely and to form groups that are composed of the isolated, responding individuals to enable more light and knowledge can be spread abroad.  This is done through collaboration of Masters working through their own disciples (this is how the New Group of World Servers came into being), as well as specifically focused active of Masters M, KH, and DK through smaller and more carefully chosen groups.  Through these much smaller groups of disciples, certain types of energy could be expressed and certain powers could be unfolded. These groups constitute the germ of a great experiment, that If successful, will in the course of the next 275 years: anchor higher forces on earth, help develop the six supernormal powers DK has mentioned, and train group members in synthetic relations that characterizes the Hierarchy.  As disciples make progress in this work and seek to understand group implications, it will become clearer to them what the Plan really is. It is a difficult concept to understand, but if disciples have patience, the willingness to work impersonally and proceed with love, if they submerge their personalities in the group life, the power to work will become possible, making them radiant focal points, light bearers, and channels for the planned distribution of force. Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 24:   Michael continues his discussion of Part V, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 51-52.  DK asks his disciples to ask themselves the following questions:  What do they understand by spiritual sensitivity, what is their definition of impersonality, what is their psychic capability, how do they feel they’ve succeeded in mental polarization?  If looked at from the soul, these questions will help the disciples understand themselves better and work better as a group.  And sharing their truthful answers with their coworkers, it will give them an opportunity to know each other better. This program was recorded on 11 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1.25hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 23:   Michael continues his discussion of Part V, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 47-51.  DK reminds his students that he will be discussing the four requirements that distinguish disciples with the new work, that of sensitivity, impersonality, the development of higher psychic powers, and mental polarization, all vital attributes for those who want to be effective with their esoteric service.  Sensitivity refers to a widening range of contact, to the ability to be alert and recognise relationships, to react to need, and to be mentally, emotionally and physically attentive to life on all three planes in the three worlds simultaneously. This has nothing to do with personality issues or relationships; rather he is asking the disciples to become sensitive and to develop soul contact, become aware of the impression from the inner voice of the Teacher and to develop intuitional response to the inner voice.  This spiritual sensitivity is only possible when working through the higher centers above the diaphragm.  Regarding impersonality, there is a close relation between impersonality and detachment. It is hard for the disciple in training to hold on to his own ideals and to pursue his own spiritual integration, and yet remain impersonally oriented towards other people. He wants recognition of his struggle and achievement; he wants to be known as a disciple; but nothing happens, because appears to be no better than his brothers. It’s not about comparing to others, or making judgments that one way is right, another wrong.  There must be an attitude of non-interference and a refusal to criticize in group relations. In every group there is usually at least one group member who constitute a problem to themselves and to their group brothers. This can become a group weakness unless all members continue to love and serve and to refrain from criticism. It is a wrong attitude to try to straighten out your brother or to impose your will or your point of view on him; continue with your own soul discipline and leave your brothers to continue theirs.  The question of psychic powers inherent in the soul must be developed in all disciples in order to meet world need and work for the Hierarchy in the field of world service. They include intuitional response to ideas, sensitiveness to impression from the Hierarchy, quick response to world need, right observation of reality on the soul plane, correct manipulation of force, and a true comprehension of the time element (right season, right cycle for action).  Then comes the quality of mental polarization expressed through meditation and control of the astral body. A disciple’s inner life must be lived on the mental plane, holding the mind steady in the soul throughout the day, all day, so there is a constant orientation to life through the angle of the soul.  The disciple faces the world but he faces it from the level of the soul.  Emotions which are normally self-centred and personal must be transmuted into the realizations of universality and impersonality; the astral body must become the organ through which the love of the soul can pour.  Aspiration must be merged in the group life and the group good, glamour must give place to reality, and the pure light of the mind must pour into all the dark places of the lower nature. These are the results of mental polarization and are brought about by meditation.  This program was recorded on 10 Aug 2021.  Approximately 2hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 22:   Michael continues his discussion of Part V, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 44-47.  DK continues his discussion about the kind of methods that have been consecutively used to reach men’s minds spiritually.  First of these was the method of raising the consciousness of an individual so that he became a Knower.  The second method employed for raising the consciousness of the race was through groups, gathered around a teacher who was a focal point of energy either because of the power of his soul contact or by being a channel through which some member of the Hierarchy could work. An experiment is now being made to shift the focus of the groups inwards and at the same time to increase their potency by permitting no individual leader at the group center upon the outer plane (all in the group are gathered together as free souls who learn together, stand together and render service to the world). These new types of groups will work together under the conscious guidance and suggestion of a member of the Great White Lodge.  Following the suggestions is the free will of each disciple, and to work it out in joint collaboration with the group.  This calls for a deeper love and comprehension between the members of the group so the internal structure of the group can become more closely integrated.  The groups must also learn to work on meditation with greater clarity and power; few of DK’s group, he tells them, really work in meditation upon the higher levels where creative work is done. The object of any meditations assigned should enable the disciples to become unified with their group and eventually for still wider group purposes.  DK reiterates that the basic qualities the Hierarchy is looking for are sensitivity, impersonality, psychic capacity and mental polarization. These are important for future group activity, and can materialize if the disciples make the necessary adjustments and submit yourselves to the discipline and the training DK offers.  This program was recorded on 4 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1hr.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 21:   Michael began his discussion of Part V, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 43-44.  The Hierarchy sanctioned the starting of these groups in the year 1931, and the group members have been slowly chosen since then.  They are learning to work together in this ashramic work with unity of purpose and relationship. For many lives the Masters KH and DK have often wondered how to begin this newer type of work that will be distinctive of the New Age.  They decided that four things must distinguish the disciples within these new groups; these were: Sensitivity, Impersonality, Psychic Gifts, and Mental Polarisation.  As we look back over the spiritual history of the race of men during the past two thousand years, we see the kind of methods that have been consecutively used to reach men’s minds spiritually.  First of these was the method of raising the consciousness of an individual so that he became a Knower. Individual salvation and the emergence of outstanding individuals with spiritual sense, vision and achievement has characterized the mystical way of the past (i.e., Shri Krishna, St. Francis of Assisi, Milarepa of Tibet and Lao Tze of China). Others emerged along the way of the mind and were the intellectual Knowers, a more occult way that is becoming the way of our present day aspirants. The reason for this is that the polarization of the race is shifting more steadily on to the mental plane. Some of the individuals on this way of the mind were Sankaracharya, the Apostle Paul, and Meister Eckhart. Today, many are coming out along this way under the name of science. There were also those outstanding individuals, such as the Christ and the Buddha, Who combined both ways in their perfection and Who towered above Their fellowmen from the heights of Their achievement. They swayed hemispheres and centuries, whereas the lesser sons of God swayed countries, specific types of mind and lesser periods of time.  This program was recorded on 3 Aug 2021.  Approximately 1hr.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 20:   Michael finishes his discussion of Part IV, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 40-43.  These groups are an externalization of an inner existing condition (an effect and not a cause, the product of an inner activity and of a subjective aggregation of forces which must become objective). The work of the disciples who find their place in these various groups is to keep in close rapport with ten inner groups which form one large active group. This group force will then pour through all the various groups as long as the members keep en rapport with the inner source, never lose sight of the group objective, cultivate soul and group laws, and use the group energy in service.  Each group has its inner counterpart and these ten inner groups are related to the Ashrams of the Masters.  These ten inner groups are an effort to bring in new and different conditions and produce a new and better civilization in the Aquarian Age.  The outer groups are a tentative and experimental effort to see how far humanity is ready for such an endeavor.   This program was recorded on 2 Aug 2021.  Approximately 2.15hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 19:   Michael continues his discussion of Part IV, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 38-40.  DK continues discussing the ten seed groups.  The fifth group will be Political Organizers in every nation, working in government, dealing with the problems of civilization and with the relationships existing between nations. The objective of this group is to bring about international understanding.  This is first ray work that will embody the method used to work out Divine Will in the consciousness of races and nations, acting as channels of communication between the department of the Manu and the race of men. The workers in the Field of Religion form the sixth group, formulating the universal platform of the new world religion (emphasizing unity, fellowship of the spirit, and loving synthesis). This group is a channel for the activity of the second Ray of Love-Wisdom, that of the World Teacher.  The seventh group is the Scientific Servers, who will reveal the essential spirituality of all scientific work.  This work is motivated by love of humanity and its welfare (relating science and religion and bringing to light the glory of God through the medium of His tangible world and His work).  This group will act as a channel of communication between the energies which constitute the forces which construct the forms and fabricate the outer garment of Deity and the human spirits. This group’s main initial work will be concerned with the problem of reincarnation (the taking of an outer form under the Law of Rebirth).  The eighth group are the Psychologists and they will be concerned with the revelation of the fact of the soul and with the new psychology which will be based upon the seven ray types and the new esoteric astrology. Their major task will be to relate the soul and the personality, revealing divinity through the medium of humanity. They will act also as transmitters of illumination between groups of thinkers and as illuminators of group thought. They transmit energy from one thought center to another and, above everything else, they transmit the energy of ideas.  The ninth group will be composed of Financiers and Economists who will work with the energies and forces which express themselves through the interchange and the values of commerce (dealing with the Law of Supply and Demand and with the great principle of Sharing).  The tenth group is the Creative Workers; they communicate between the third aspect of Divinity, the Creative Aspect and the first aspect, Life. They link and blend life and form creatively. They are closely related to the ninth group because today, unknowingly and without any true understanding, they are bringing about a concretization of the energy of desire; this in turn brings about the creation of things. Their work is also largely philosophical and concerned with the task of relating the other nine types of groups so that they may work creatively upon the physical plane and the divine Plan may clearly appear as a result of this synthesis which they bring about.  This program was recorded on 1 Aug 2021.  Approximately 2hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 18:   Michael continues his discussion of Part IV, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 35-38.  DK begins his discussion of the 10 Seed groups and 10 new modes of communication, telling his disciples that they are an experiment in starting focal points of energy in the human family to enable certain energies to flow to the entire race of men.  They inaugurate certain new techniques in work and in modes of communication, and are intended to facilitate interrelation through the nature of each group.  The Telepathic Communicators are receptive to impression from the Masters and from each other (they work primarily on the mental plane).  This group helps bring about communications soul to soul on the higher mental plane as well as mind to mind on the lower mental plane. Another group is the Trained Observers; their objective is to see clearly through all events using the intuition. They work primarily on the astral plane at the dissipation of glamour; their work helps develop communications between the plane of illumination and pure reason (the buddhic plane) and the plane of illusion and glamour (the astral plane).  The third group is the Magnetic Healers, who work intelligently with the vital forces of the etheric body. They work on bringing about the right healing of the personalities of individuals through the right organization and circulation of energy to various parts of the nature (mental, emotional and physical).  This group will act as the intermediaries between the plane of spiritual energy (either soul energy, intuitional energy or will energy) and the patient(s); they must always work as units in a coherent group (magnetic healers must learn to work as souls and not as individuals).  The next group is the Educators of the New Age, and their service is along the line of culture and a new type of education. Their emphasis will be upon the use of the mind in meditation. They will act as communicators and transmitters of two aspects of divine energy—knowledge and wisdom; they are a direct intermediary between the higher mind and the lower mind. They are concerned with building the antahkarana and their task is that of linking the three points of mental focus (the higher mind, the soul, and the lower mind) so a group antahkarana is established between the kingdom of souls and the world of men.  This program was recorded on 31 Jul 2021.  Approximately 2.25hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 17:   Michael continues his discussion of Part IV, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 33-35.  DK discusses the production of the outer form on earth, through the medium of books, of esoteric schools and the educating of public opinion by a committed group of workers (masters, disciples, and initiates) of whom DK is one.  There are many today working intelligently with the Hierarchical plans.  Among the disciples of the New Age groups and a Master’s inner Ashram, there needs to be a recognition of unity of thought. Experience, thought, difficulties and problems can be shared, all in the work of cultivating a sympathetic understanding and mutual aid in the spiritual life.  These groups will be of different kinds and their work will be diversified. Four of these groups are already formed and the others will gradually be created to meet advancing need.  It is essential that members of these groups have a wider vision than they now have; their membership in any of the groups constitute an act of service which they are rendering to the work which I and other members of the Hierarchy are carrying forward under the Plan.  In the early stages of any hierarchical experiment like these groups, much difficulty is encountered owing to the material with which the initiating agents (such as DK) have to work. Any new idea, especially if it embodies a purpose which will materialize much later fails to be fully understood in the early stages.   This program was recorded on 30 Jul 2021.  Approximately 1hr.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 16:   Michael begins his discussion of Part IV, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 30-33.  As groups of disciples become active in the world and their inner integration and group relationship become securely established, we’ll have the germ of those characteristics which will dignify the New Age groups. Slowly and gradually, as far as the disciples are concerned, DK gathered together a band of disciples upon the outer plane. As the group thoughtform integrated and disciples began to work together, it became possible for DK to go forward with his chosen work (publishing the books, providing a body of teaching to serve the needs of coming generations; the instructions for the New Group of World Servers was sent out and given wide distribution, anchoring the New Group of World Servers upon the physical plane; and the formation in the world that “bridge of souls and servers” which will make possible the merging of the inner subjective Hierarchy of souls and the outer world of humanity. In the past history of the race, a great event occurred which brought into manifestation the fourth kingdom in nature, the human kingdom. We stand now on the verge of a similar but still more momentous event—the appearance of the fifth kingdom, as a result of the planned activity of the New Group of World Servers, working in collaboration with the Hierarchy of perfected souls, and under the guidance of the Christ Himself.  This allows the groups of disciples to share in the work of the Hierarchy as the following spiritual events taking place: 1) The sending forth of the teaching for the New Age. 2) The founding in embryo of those schools of esotericism which will embody the teaching for the new discipleship and make it practical in application. 3) The recognition of the New Group of World Servers and their work.  4) The emergence—as yet only in symbolic indication—of the fifth or spiritual kingdom. 5) The forming of the skeleton structure of the new groups of disciples, the externalisation in embryo of the inner Ashrams. These will multiply and carry forward the work of integrating the inner and the outer groups and fostering the growth of the Kingdom of God on earth, bringing to public attention the fact of the restoration of the Mysteries of Initiation.  This program was recorded on 28 Jul 2021.  Approximately 1hr.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 15:   Michael concludes his discussion on Part III, Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, pages 28-30.  DK tells his disciples that while there is no hurry in the work he proposes his disciple do with him, neither should there be any wasted time or lost motion. The work is related to thought control and to the activity of the creative imagination, as the Hierarchy produces its effects upon the plane of appearances through the potency of its unified, conscious thinking. So he urges his disciples to a new phase of intense, inner living and dynamic thinking with the objective of group fusion, group united thinking and group relation.  It is the inner life of reflection, the cultivated recognition of the soul and the reflective alignment of soul and personality which will determine the success of this work.  There is another great mind power which has to be unfolded, and that is the power to heal.  When men can be trained to be unselfishly and divinely magnetic and radio-active, then there will be poured out upon the world certain divine forces which will vivify and reconstruct, which will eliminate the evil and heal the sick. These three major faculties (working in and with thought substance, the power of intuition, and the power to heal) are powers which the spiritual man can unfold (other faculties and developing capacities are only expansions of these three).  The Plan will unfold before disciples as their minds increase in sensitivity and brains become more responsive to mental impulses. Little by little, there will appear all over the earth, groups of illumined souls who can cooperate with the Masters with perfect freedom of intercourse because their responsiveness has been scientifically trained and developed. Their power to work in tune with or in unison with the Hierarchy, to cooperate with the group life of many other groups of disciples and to communicate light and revelation to the world of men will become an accomplished fact. Nothing can stop the eventual success of the Plan; it is simply a question of time. DK asks his disciples to strengthen the connection to him at the time of each Full Moon, and the necessity for holding the thought of that contact for three whole days prior to the Full Moon itself, with aspiration and with confidence and then for three days afterwards with expectancy. This is an act of group service to be rendered selflessly and with no personal expectancy; service in the world these days requires constant pressure and attention and the work is strenuous. Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 14:   Michael continues his discussion on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, Part III, pages 26-28.  DK tells his disciples that by learning to break through the glamour in their own lives and to live in the light of the intuition, they can strengthen the work of the Masters.  He names some of the glamors they need to work with.  The glamor of destiny (thinking they have important work to do).  The glamor of aspiration (being pre-occupied with their aspiration and spiritual ambitions).  The glamor of self-assurance (the belief that the disciple’s point of view is right, that he’s an authority and infallible). The glamor of duty (leading to an over-emphasis of the sense of responsibility).  The glamor of environmental conditions (can lead to a sense of frustration or futility).  The glamor of the mind and of its efficiency and its capacity to deal with every problem.  The glamor of devotion (leading to an undue stimulation of the astral body). The glamor of desire with its reflex action upon the physical body (leading to a constant turmoil). The glamor of personal ambition.  Disciples in preparation for initiation must learn to work consciously with glamor so they can work effectively with the presented truth, ignoring any pain or suffering or mental questioning which is incident to personality rebellion and limitation.  They must cultivate “divine indifference” to personal considerations which is the outstanding hallmark of the trained initiate.  This program was recorded on 25 Jul 2021.  Approximately 1 hr.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 13:   Michael continues his discussion on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, Part III, pages 24-26.  DK tells his disciples that the purpose of groups like theirs is to unfold the powers of their illumined minds.  They must learn to work in and with all thought substance.  To become telepathically sensitive to the mind currents and thoughts of the Hierarchy and the lives who carry out the ideas of the Divine Mind.  Their response to the stimulation DK gives them (with earnest endeavor on their part to love with unselfishness) will gradually perfect certain relations to their co-workers in three directions:  1) a demonstrated ability to be in telepathic rapport with DK and his associates, 2) the power to communicate with each other at any time, and 3) a sensitivity to the thoughts of humanity as a whole.  This will allow a miniature replica of the Brotherhood to be established on earth and aid personnel of the New Group of World Servers to be able to respond to telepathic sensitivity of many Ashrams of the Masters. This will establish in time and without controversy the unity of all beings. The disciples were also told they need to learn to unfold the power of the intuition, a function of the mind that when rightly used enables man to grasp reality with clarity, free from glamor and illusion. When the intuition functions in any human being, he is enabled to take direct and correct action for he is in touch with the Plan, with pure and unadulterated fact and undistorted ideas—free from illusion and coming direct from the divine or universal Mind. The unfoldment of this faculty will bring about a world recognition of the Plan and this is the greatest achievement of the intuition in this present world cycle. When that Plan is sensed, there comes the realization of the unity of all beings, of the synthesis of world evolution and of the unity of the divine objective. All life and all forms are seen then in their true perspective; a right sense of values and of time then eventuates. The various groups in a Master’s Ashram can fulfill certain functions and provide laboratories for specified work. The objective before the Hierarchy at this time is to break and dissipate the world glamour; this has to happen on a world scale just as it happens in the life of every disciple. By learning to break through the glamour in their own lives and to live in the light of the intuition, disciples can strengthen the hands of Those Whose task it is to awaken the intuition in man. This program was recorded on 23 Jul 2021.  Approximately 2.2 hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 12:   Michael continues his discussion on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, Part III, pages 22-24.  DK tells his disciples that a change is now being made between the relationship between his disciples to see if group activity and interplay can be set up upon the physical plane, using the etheric body and the brain. Any differences of opinion which occur in the relations of the group will be caused by astral-brain reactions and are not important; they should be eliminated from the memory and considered personality limitations that are unworthy of hindering group integrity.  This group is one in mental relations and in soul contact. The astral- physical brain reactions should be regarded as non-existent and as illusion and should be allowed to lapse below the threshold of the group consciousness—there to die for lack of attention. The work the disciples engage in is not the main interest, what counts with Hierarchy is that the group, as an Ashram, functions in establishing a potent group interplay and group relation that emerges as an embryo of world unity. It is the functioning of groups who have the ability to work as a unity, whose ideals are one, whose personalities are merged, whose rhythm is one, and whose unity is so firmly established that no separation occurs. Unselfish people, or pure detached devotion in a human being is not rare; however unselfish groups are very rare. The submergence of personal interests in the good of the family or in that of another person is often to be found, for the beauty of the human heart has manifested itself down the ages. To find such an attitude in a group of people and to see such a point of view maintained with an unbroken rhythm and demonstrating spontaneously and naturally—this will be the glory of the New Age.  If this group measures up to the vision as it exists in DK’s mind, there will be established upon the physical plane focal points of specialized force through which the Hierarchy can work with greater surety than ever before, setting in motion on earth a network of spiritual energies which will facilitate the regeneration of the world. The potent rhythm which animates the inner Brotherhood of the Lodge of Masters will make itself felt everywhere on earth and these groups, if successful, may be regarded as the first step toward the emergence into manifestation of the Great White Lodge. But remember this: the keynote of the Lodge is not attainment or degree. It is stable relationship, unity of thought, plus diversity of method. The Brotherhood is a community of souls who are swept by the desire to serve, urged by a spontaneous impulse to love, illumined by one pure Light, devotedly fused and blended into groups of serving Minds, and energized by one Life. Its Members are organised to further the Plan which They consciously contact and with which They deliberately cooperate. This program was recorded on 22 Jul 2021.  Approximately 1.25 hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 11:   Michael continues his discussion on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, Part III, pages 20-22.  DK askes his disciples to see that their love for all beings deepens and that the growth of their love comes through group love which lies back of all world happenings. Love is now in the stage of anchoring itself physically through the new groups like his group that are in process of forming all over the world. They can become centers of divine love, magnetic, constructive and pure if they conform to the requirements set forth.  The Hierarchy seeks to discover how sensitive groups are, as a whole, to subjective guidance and instruction, and how free the channels of communication are between the various individuals in the group and the Master, as well as between the various groups within the Ashram of a Master. The relationships in such groups are entirely on mental and astral levels and hence the limitations of the etheric force body and of the physical brain are not felt; the fundamental relation is on soul levels, and this leads to greater facility in understanding.  While all disciples are given suggestions, they follow them willingly, under their own free will and choice without compulsion. The narrow path that all disciples have to tread requires obedience to the ancient rules for disciples, given willingly and with eyes open, though no rigid adherence to such rules is ever expected. The disciple grows through intelligently adapting his life to these requirements as far as is reasonably possible and not by adapting the requirements to his life. Flexibility within certain limits is always needed but that flexibility must not be set in motion by any personality inertia or mental questioning.  This program was recorded on 16 Jul 2021.  Approximately 1 hr.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 10:   Michael begins his discussion on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, Part III, pages 17-20.  In Part III DK begins by telling his group that all working brothers and disciples to have three things in mind if they are to work efficiently and as desired.  First, they should know that Masters have 3 grade of workers (those doing difficult work in the outer world, those who serve as links between the Elder Brothers of the race and Masters working as intermediaries in the working out of the plan; and the Masters Themselves and their cooperating initiates working primarily on the inner side).  He also tells his disciples that working disciples need to appreciate the immediate emergency, and that the crisis of men must be viewed in terms of opportunity and not in terms of catastrophe. Just as in the life of an aspirant to discipleship, there comes a life or a series of lives where there is direct conflict between the soul and the lower nature, so there is now an analogous crisis upon our planet. The object in both cases is that the soul may assume increasing control over the form aspect.  The present objective is that the human family should now, as a whole, do three things and anything which militates against evil:  1) Manifest the nature of the soul (love and the will-to-good) through the integrated personality.  2)  Transfer the energy (now turned to the vitalizing the physical body and physical creation) to nurturing the creative agency.  3)  Usher in a period of spiritual unfoldment in every kingdom in nature, brought about by the renewed cyclic activity of the Great White Lodge and carried forward through the energies which are ushering in the New Age.  Disciples, DK goes on, must organize in a steady united effort.  Just as every human being struggles through in some one life to personality achievement so it is among the nations; yet at the heart of every nation lies latent the mystical soul and eventually—after dire struggle and distress—all will be well. Tendencies towards materialism and towards personality achievement must, under the larger plan and the will-to-good, be offset by a counter move of spiritual living and this must be the objective of all working disciples.  This program was recorded on 11 Jul 2021.  Approximately 1.25 hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 9:   Michael concluded his discussion on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I,  Talks to Disciples, Part II, pages 13-17.  DK tells his group that there are definite rules which should govern the interior spiritual life of those in training for the various stages of discipleship. First of all, all disciples practice daily meditation suited to the disciple concerned and vary according to ray, point in evolution and the stage of discipleship which is the immediate objective. If during the meditation they attempt to link up to Master DK, they can then avoid the glamors and the illusions of the astral plane.  They also need to have a short period in their meditation where they link up with their other group menbers, sending them love, soul force, and help. They should keep a spiritual diary that notes any spiritual experience they have in meditation, contact with a Master, illumination that comes to them, any telepathic events with fellow disciples, any mystical or spiritual phenomena, any psychic experiences.  And while days or weeks may go by with nothing to record, certain things might be coming from the subjective and spiritual world, yet don’t register because the noise of the lower psychic vibrations obscure the inner impressions.  Once the outer noise is recognized and blocked, the inner sensitivity will register the right kind of impressions.  One of the things disciples should look for is evidence of successful group work, such as group integrity and cohesion and the emergence of group and ashramic consciousness.  Eventually telepathic interplay will bring potent results in the outer work.  DK describes this work as an experiment in esoteric commonsense and in willingness to accept suggestion from the Master; it is a trial of the intuition and a test in discrimination, and an experiment in impersonality, in willingness to work and learn, in freedom to choose or reject, in observation and in techniques. DK asks them to stand together—no matter what forces may seek to separate them, and to love each other in spite of character and ray differences and to work loyally together for group coherence and integrity. He tells them that If if they can hold together throughout this life cycle, then the group can carry forward into the future and work together on other planes, thus conserving energy. This is a body of disciples who—through devotion to truth, through their attempt to do their duty, and their mutual karmic relation to each other and DK—have been chosen to work together towards the specific end of forming a nucleus of spiritual power and energy for the helping of humanity and to inaugurate the methods of the New Age regarding group work and training of disciples for initiation.  This program was recorded on 9 Jul 2021.  Approximately 2 hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 8:   Michael begins his discussion on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Talks to Disciples, Part II, pages 12-13.  DK describes how disciples must voluntarily work together, aiming toward group solidarity as souls.  Eventually this will manifest subjectively in the form of group telepathic inter-communication, as group understanding of each other’s problems and the opportunity to aid each other as souls.  Within the Master’s group disciples do not deal with personalities, rather they learn to transmit their soul ray quality to a fellow disciple, stimulating him to greater courage, finer purity of motive, and deeper love.  DK reminds his disciples that they must always think of each other as souls, not as limited human beings.  The three objectives he outlines for his disciples are group unity, group meditation, and group activity.  Once the group is really established, it can begin to function outwardly and to make its presence felt.  The eventual effect will be along the line of healing the various ills of mankind—physical, mental, psychological and emotional.  This program was recorded on 7 Jul 2021.  Approximately 1.2 hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 7:   Michael concludes his discussion on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Talks to Disciples, Part I, pages 11-12.  DK continues giving his group certain principles, the second of which is that it is essential that all disciples in an Ashram should be contemplatives in the occult sense, and not the mystical. The aim of meditation work should be achieved as rapidly as possible at the highest point in the meditation process, passing quickly through the stages of concentration, alignment and meditation to that of contemplation. Once achieved, the disciple needs to work on contemplating the world of energies in which all initiates work; the group then constitutes a group of active contemplatives, and the result facilitated will be group unity. The third thing is that the group unity achieved will have its roots in united group meditation and some form of group activity; this should demonstrate at once in the group itself and later on in the world at large. It is in this way that the Masters’ Ashrams will be externalized. Then will come the restoration of the Mysteries. This program was recorded on 6 Jul 2021.  Approximately 1.25 hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 6:   Michael continues his discussion on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Part I, Talks to Disciples, pages 8-11. DK begins to give his group certain principles, starting first with a reminder that the new discipleship is primarily an experiment in group work, and not that of perfecting an individual disciple. The individuals are intended to supplement each other and complement each other and in the aggregate of their qualities should provide a group capable of useful, spiritual expression to help humanity. The spheres of service of individual disciples remain the same as before, but added to that will be group activity and life. This work is done on the mental plane, so the first objective is to unify the group so that each person in it can work in close mental rapport and spiritual cooperation with the others. This depends on a non-critical attitude and the outpouring of a spirit of love on the part of each member of the group; disciples must watch their thoughts regarding each other and eliminate all suspicion and criticism. Every disciple has to learn to subordinate his own ideas of personal growth to the group requirements, some disciples will have to hasten their progress in certain directions and others will have to slow down theirs temporarily to the pace of the majority. This will happen automatically, if the group identity is the dominant factor in the thoughts of each disciple. Masters always look at their groups of disciples subjectively and as a group; it is the total radiance which they see; the united rhythm and sound they collectively emit which the Master notices. Disciples in the group of a Master have to love each other with intelligence and doing so releases light and power that will eventually make the group more effective in the world.   This program was recorded on 6 Jul 2021.  Approximately 1.25 hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 5:   Michael continues his discussion on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Part I, Talks to Disciples, pages 6 – 8.  Disciples now working with Masters underwent preliminary training in receptivity during earlier incarnations to make it easier for the Master to work long range with them, to read their minds, see their light, and vitalize their auras.  The results rest on the disciple and depend on his cooperation with the Master, his patience and exactness in detail, in self-forgetfulness, and in the discipline he is willing to impose on his life.  He must also work without attachment, forget self goals, desist from self analysis, and leave the results alone.  DK tells his disciples that they stand together in spiritual enterprise, having voluntarily agreed to go forward with a more intensive spiritual life.  They will follow instructions that seem reasonable and right, and from time to time will analyze and question those requirements.  They will be guided by health and circumstances, and need to remember that Masters are not constantly aware of their physical condition or daily matters; Masters are not concerned with affairs of the personality.  This program was recorded on 4 Jul 2021.  Approximately 1.8 hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 4:   Michael continues his discussion on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Part I, Talks to Disciples, pages 4 – 6.  DK tells his group that each of them start this work with fundamental characteristics and certain handicaps, but they have been recognized by their light and potential in the work.  Whether they learn or not is something he leaves to them, as there is no such thing as occult obedience (to impose this would place the disciple’s karma on the shoulders of the Master).  Rather a Master is responsible for offering opportunity, the right enunciation of the truth, and hints and symbols of that which needs to be apprehended.  But the disciple needs an open inner ear and true humility of heart to respond to the suggestions and follow the Master’s instructions.  Disciples must follow the instructions accurately, of their own free will, without looking for results.  These new teaching methods are an experiment to apply the ancient rules in a modern way.  Disciples in the past lived in more peaceful times (the chitta was not so highly developed, nor tinted with so much thought); today, knowledge is widespread and many people think for themselves. The material the Masters are now teaching helps develop illumination and is of a higher quality than in previous times, and it is during a tumultuous time of stress and strain in Western civilizations. Progress is made in spite of the existing world conditions, and for disciples such as those in DK’s group, there is no retiring from the world. Wisdom must be attained in the very midst of intellectual turmoil and the work of cooperation with the Hierarchy on the inner side of life must proceed amidst the devastating racket of modern life in the great cities. This is the problem of the disciples, and DK seeks with his instruction to aid them in this endeavor.  This program was recorded on 4 Jul 2021.  Approximately 1.2 hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 3:   Michael continues his new series on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, pages xvi to 4.  First he finished the Forward with a discussion about the 3 stanzas of the Great Invocation and when they were given out.  Then he began the Talks to Disciples.  DK begins by telling his disciples that there is a new emergence of the fifth kingdom, the Kingdom of God.  This kingdom of souls is composed of people who are becoming group conscious and work in group formation.  They love their fellowmen and are effectively expressing the work of Buddha (embodying wisdom) and the Christ (embodying the great cosmic principle of love).  Their work can be brought about through the individual effort of disciples using detachment, dispassion, and discrimination.  Additionally, group initiation furthers this work with group interest and group work; group love to all beings is the true significance of the Aquarian technique of group love and work.  DK informed his disciples that he would divide his disciples into groups so they can work on different aspects of the Plan, laying the ground for future group work of the New Age. This program was recorded on 3 Jul 2021.  Approximately 1.75 hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 2:  Michael continues a new series on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Forward, pages xi to xvi.  First he started with reiterating true discipleship is inclusive, which is hallmark of all true esotericists.  While none of the disciples in Master DK’s group were perfect, they all were true aspirants, persevering through pain and sorrow, discipline, success, failure, joy, and almost unattainable goals.  Some have been on the Path of Accepted Discipleship for many lives and others for the first time.  All are mystics, learning to become occultists. They are normal people of differing professions and religions, living useful, modern lives in many different countries in the world.  None of them regards his faith as essential to salvation; rather knowing that the spiritual reality is the divinity in all mankind.  Instructions to each disciple are given in sequence, year by year, so a real picture of the person concerned emerges (his problems, aspirations, achievements, or lack of achievement). They represent men and women who turn their back on material affairs and aspire to find their way back to their divinity.  The individuals themselves are not important, rather it is the subject matter of the teaching imparted that is important to all aspirants. The disciples are informed what type of energy they respond to, and what their rayological makeup is, letting him know his line of least resistance and what areas he needs to develop; knowing the rayological makeup helps identify the conflict that might exist between soul and personality rays.  People of all professions are found on all rays, but only a highly developed person nearing the Path of Discipleship can accurately determine what his rays may be. This program was recorded on 1 Jul 2021.    Approximately 2 hrs.

Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Section I, Program 1:  Michael begins a new series on Discipleship in the New Age, Volume I, Forward, pages ix to xi.  First he started with a recap of what commentaries he’s already completed so far, and a list of the AAB books he has not yet done.  Then he led into what the next dispensation of the teachings might be that is coming after 2025.   Then he began a discussion on the Forward, dedicated to Disciple RSU (Restraint, Strength, Understanding), Regina Keller.  We’re told in the forward to the book that nothing like it has been published before.  It contains two series of talks by Master DK to his inner group, as well as personal instructions to each of them.  The teaching of the Ageless Wisdom is presented in a new form and changes how we look at the rules for disciples in a Master’s Ashram.  Discipleship in the New Age was published to bring the Hierarchy to the attention of the general public, and the fact that the human kingdom is moving forward on the Path of Evolution out of the fourth kingdom and into the fifth kingdom. A second reason for publishing this book was the need to educate the general public about who the Masters are and how they work with their pupils.  A third reason for the book was to clarify that only those who are beginning to come under the influence and the control of their own souls (therefore, mentally focused) are eligible for the training offered by the Hierarchy. Devotion, emotional reactions and sentiment are not enough; esoteric training is an impersonal matter concerned with the development and expansion of soul consciousness.  True disciple are inclusive, which is hallmark of all true esotericists.  This program was recorded on 29 Jun 2021.   Approximately 2 hrs.
