This twice-monthly webinar series on “A Treatise on Cosmic Fire” is an in-depth, open-discussion style study of Master DK’s opus magnum, using commentary, charts, graphics, and artwork from a broad range of esoteric sources to better understand this unique work.

This week we continued discussing the Etheric Body and Prana. We finished up chapter 1 and briefly touched upon chapter 2. We covered pages 85-88. We reviewed the 5th, 6th and 7th statements and started where we left off on the 8th. Bringing together life and death we spoke on the will to live and its correlation to the law of attraction and at the time of death this will to live becomes the will to abstract. Most of our discussion revolved around the 8th Statement of Chapter 1 and interrelated topics.
“When the thinker on his own plane withdraws his attention from his little system within the three worlds and gathers within himself all his forces, then physical plane existence comes to an end and all returns within the causal consciousness;” 1
“the pranic life is abstracted bodily from out of the dense sheath, and the stimulation of the fires of matter ceases to be. The latent fire of the atom remains;” 1
In the process of death there are two main exits with a third exit in temporary use. The exit in the head used by intellectuals, disciples and initiates of the world. The exit in the region of the solar plexus, for those who are astrally polarized and physically biased. And the temporary exit in thew heart used by the kindly well-meaning man or woman. All are covered in an etheric web. 2
“form is made by the action of the two fires of matter-active and latent, radiator and inherent … when they are separate the form falls apart.” 1
“Three types of energy are therefore aspeccts of the one universal life … energies which utilize the akasha (ether) in the universe are divided into three main divisions” 3
Fohat, Prana, Kundalini
“a close connection between the spleen and the top of the head in connection with the etheric body.” 4
analogy of the umbilical cord and reference to the “silver cord”
12 petals related to 6 … 960 sums to 15 in turn sums to 6
“a closer relation is revealed between the splenic center at the top of the head … The “pole” of man is the “top of the head” and the splenic center is the etheric center dedicated to the processing of prana.” 5
Omphalos – oracle Solar God, spleen – umbilical cord, Sun – Mother
Moving on to a broader topic… Moon chain, Earth chain. Planetary Logos and the relationship with the etheric systems and bodies.
“The MOON once was the body of expression for one of the Logoi; the Earth now is, and the cycles change continuously… the centre of escape for the etheric body is found likewise in the physical planet … similar action will eventuate at the close of a Mahamanvantara. The Logos will withdraw within himself, abstracting His three major principles.” 5
“Are the chain lord of the Moon-chain and the chain lord of the Earth-chain identical beings? … Between Saturn and the Moon there is a close relationship … Logos of Saturn is somehow related to this concept of a “body of expression”.” 6
Chains from cycle to cycle are unbroken and can not be dissociated. The evolutionary weave of those who individualized in chains are distinct. 7
Human aspects – Principles:
“man himself (being made in the image of God) is a seven-fold being, capable of seven states of consciousness, expressive of the seven principles or basic qualities which enable him the be aware of the seven planes upon which he is, consciously or unconsciously, functioning.” 8
“He shall have gathered all unto Himself; the etheric will cease to exist, and the web will be no more. Full consciousness will be achieve, and in the moment of achievement, existence or entified manifestation will cease.” 9
“Each withdrawal from plane to higher plane is part of the process of “inbreathing.” 10
Further understanding of this concept is clarified where the seven centres of force which hold the three forms in a coherent whole. 11
Clarification on the term absolute in its greater and lesser form is given from MDR. 12
Before moving onto the Nature of Prana we reviewed the Eight statements again summarizing their meaning.
Our foundation pointed to a most important link between the Physical man, the Planetary Man, and The Logos, the grand Heavenly Man. 13
“… the astral vehicles of the different planetary Logoi differ. This difference is necessarily dependent upon Their cosmic astral life which directly affects the systemic astral, or the physical liquid subplane of the cosmic physical [the systemic astral plane].” 14
“The Raja-Lord of the Plane, the great deva Varuna, is the Central Life of substance of the astral plane of our planetary scheme.” 15
“He coordinates His cosmic astral body, and attains continuity of consciousness…”
The interwoven fractals and chains
Wisdom comes in knowing oneself in the threefold
”intelligent interpretation, coupled to a wise abstention from dogmatic assertion, and a recognition that correspondence lies in quality and method more than in detailed adherence to a specified action at any given time in evolution.” 16
“to understand the life of great beings entirely beyond our ken.” 17
Furthering the aims of evolution through by integrating the 3 lenses into one perception
“if rightly pondered on, may result in more intelligent practical living in the occult sense of the term” 18

This week we are again discussing the Etheric Body and Prana continuing on from page 82 of Treatise on Cosmic Fire. We left off last week at the 5th of the eight statements. This week we began by reviewing those eight statements and then continued from number 5.
Before we began with the continuation of the statements, we discussed some question topics
- How is Prana related to Love?
- How is Prana related to the Plan?
- As Brahma is it strictly 1st ray?
- If so, is it broken into 3 aspects as it descends into matter?
- Is Prana devic or just the etheric matter that supports it?
- Does every level or field have an etheric web or ceiling that needs to be pierced to participated in greater wholeness or is that just within the microcosmic chakra system?
Using pages much further on in ToCF we brought a modicum of illumination to these questions. Refer to video and pages 1 2 3
We now cycle back to the 5th statement where upon we began.
Most of the discussion in this webinar revolved around the movement through or transcendence of different layers of consciousness or soul infusion. Important to note as per DK’s clarification there is an optimal constructive or a sub optimal destructive path we can take as we progress through the evolutionary chains, strands or webs.
“This etheric web, during incarnation, forms a barrier between the physical and astral planes, which can only be transcended when consciousness is sufficiently developed to permit of escape.” 4
“The quality and the brilliance of the light in the head has to be studied, for it indicates the measure of soul control and the relative purity of the vehicles, and the various etheric “webs” have to be carefully dealt with, and also the rate of vibration of the web, and the centre.” 5
Connected to this topic we discussed the relationship and similarities between the Physical sub-planes and the Solar System planes. Synthesis… as above so below. 5
All incarnation is bound by etheric will.
“When the Logos has expanded His Consciousness on the cosmic levels He can then transcend the logoic etheric web, and escape beyond the ring-pass-not of His objective manifestation.” 6
An analogous representation of the Systemic Etheric in which humanity is transcending can be seen on the oft used chart7 TCF:117. Again, we are dealing with fractal superimposition and expansion.
Moving on the 6th Statement TCF:83, we explore the idea of the great organ which acts as the receiver of Prana. This is found in all 3 bodies-human, planetary, and systemic or logoic. It has an “etheric manifestation and its dense physical correspondence.” Three different Organs in the human body are described by DK (above the shoulder blades, above the solar plexus which has consequently shrunk due to modern civilization and the lack of Natural connection and the physical and etheric spleen.) Within the Solar System the Organ of cosmic prana is the Central sun not spiritual… “all existence is necessarily triple in manifestation.” DK further elaborates on the Central sun when he describes our planetary status “the great family of the central sun”8 Refer also the chart on TCF:84 (PRANA OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM)9
“The entire solar sphere, the logoic ring-pass-not, rotates upon its axis, and thus all that is included within the sphere is carried in a circular manner through the Heavens.”10
Diving deeper we look at the correlation of pranic manifestation, emanation, reception movement and distribution in the Solar system, the Planet, a Human being and the Atom of Matter. The distributive effect of each is felt upon its higher level manifestation.
“Forget not that all rays have three aspects, and that all three can be contacted by the human consciousness of the spiritual man, thus placing at his disposal the energies of the seven rays and of the twenty-one forces.”11 3 – 7 – 21
He [the Christ] anchored on Earth “the Will of God in the matrix of love” (as it has been esoterically called). 12
Again, we revisit the idea of the will to live or the will to be and the layers of pranic emanations that are disseminated leading to incarnation on various levels.
“… the dhyani-chohans are actually, in one most important sense, our own selves.”13
The 7th statement which we conclude this webinar on touches again on the 3 fold bodies and the three layered charts System, Planetary and Human. We more deeply explore a 4th chart the Atom of Substance/Matter or Babbit’s Atom 14 15
More on manifestation from MDR’s notes on TCF: “In the Secret Doctrine it is suggested that electrons and atoms are monads coming into manifestation. If this is the case, the term monad must be understood in a special manner. In any case, “an elementary life” has a monadic correspondence.”
- A fractal continuum manifest and animated through the workings of pranic emanations and distribution. A spiral rotating upon an axis and in motion through space time.
- The etheric webs protect us from premature contact with multi-dimensional layering. We can burn through these in a optimal evolutionary manner or a destructive forceful manner which can regress us or subject us to astral attachment which can potentially move with us through incarnations.
- There exists great organs of reception for the different types of pranic emanations on all levels of manifestation and existence. The distribution of this reception is transferred into the next level above thus an infinite interconnectedness is represented. An evolutionary expansion of the ONE soul unbroken ever BEING.

We began the webinar discussion with an emphasis on Solar Pranic emanations. With an accompanying reference

- definitely stimulating

- furthering the cellular growth of matter
- helps cellular matter adjust to environing conditions
- stimulating internal health, which demonstrates as heat and activity of an atom

Continuing on we further explored the etheric body and prana “golden bowl.”

Moving on we discussed the composition of the matter of the physical plane which is defined as etheric and touched upon a corresponding concept of an earlier solar system…
“The refuse of that which earlier was seen” DK
matter upon this plane containing that which was before.
Which led us into the Law of attraction which can be understood as a Soul function.
“Denser matter of the physical plane is made to cohere to this vitalized form…” TCF:80
“the pranic emanations of the etheric body itself play upon the dense physical body in the same manner as the pranic emanations of the sun play upon the etheric body.” TCF:80
a fractal of as above so below in a cyclical evolution 4
Diving next into an extensive discussion on higher and lower desire nature. The Causal Manifestation chart was analyzed 5 and from HBP “Our “Universe” is only one of an infinite number of Universes, all of them “Sons of Necessity…”” 6 Essentially we discussed the difference between transcending the desire nature or sublimating it so it becomes aspiration versus becoming a lower impulse. 7
“How can desire originate on the planes of abstract mind? Shall we say that it is because the soul, on whatever level (cosmic or system,) is there to be found, and that the soul has its desires? For the soul is a ‘heart’, and the heart is, in an important respect, the seat of desire (as in, the “heart’s desires”). The soul also has ideals and dreams, both arising from the second aspect of soul nature.” MDR notes on TCF
We continued to further explore the interconnectedness of the Cosmos…
“This whole solar system being conceived of as one vast mechanism, with an exquisite adjustment of its parts in all major details, is only the physical expression of Vishnu, or the ethereal basic substance, as we may understand the word for the present . All the harmonies observable in the manifested cosmos are only the result of the harmoniously working energies that resolve ether into the expression that we recognize. All planets, worlds, human beings,&c., are only parts of the body, each functioning in subordination to the law which governs the whole . The evolution, preservation and destruction of the world is therefore one vast process called Yagna , which takes place in the body of Yagna -Purusha, or the psychical body of nature. Humanity taken collectively is the heart and brain of this Purusha and therefore all the Karma generated by humanity, physical, mental, or spiritual, determines mainly the character of this Yagnic process.” Some thoughts on the Gita:18 – A Brahmin F.T.S.
